First published in 1939, Clark's Positioning in Radiography is the
pre-eminent text on positioning technique for diagnostic
radiographers. Whilst retaining the clear and easy-to-follow
structure of the previous edition, the thirteenth edition includes
a number of changes and innovations in radiographic technique. The
text has been extensively updated, including a new section on
evaluating images, The Ten Point Plan, which is linked throughout
to Essential Image Characteristics for each procedure. The section
on digital imaging has been expanded not only to elaborate more
extensively on the technology but to demonstrate its various
clinical applications. Students will also benefit from more
detailed reference to positioning errors and how to avoid mistakes,
as well as a greater emphasis on standard radiation protection
measures and guidance on the most recent radiation dose reference
levels for specific examinations. This new edition includes more
anatomical drawings to support better understanding of radiographic
anatomy, and brand-new positioning photographs reflecting the
different approaches in technique using the variety of imaging
platforms available in radiography departments. Clark's Positioning
in Radiography will continue to be the definitive work on
radiographic technique for all students on diagnostic radiography
courses, radiographers in practice and trainee radiologists
preparing for the FRCR or equivalent qualifying examinations.
Michael Brennan is a cop in pursuit of a serial rapist-and the
rapist has targeted Natasha Panova, the love of Michael's life.
Ocean City, Maryland is a gemstone among the east coast resorts, a
city of old values and older sins. In 1994 a predator moves at will
through a town overflowing with tourists, and it appears that he's
a cop. Or is he? Michael is a compassionate ladies man. He takes a
personal interest in the vicious but seemingly unrelated attacks
because he is a pro, and because he's known abuse. Two others are
drawn into the hunt: Michael's courageous friend Officer Levi Hart,
and Natasha-a brilliant waitress who dances to a logical beat. Levi
knows one of the victims-but he's reluctant to say why-and Natasha
knows that she is next on the rapist's list. Together, they trace
the clues. As Michael closes in he discovers that he's become a
suspect, and when a jealous coworker threatens to derail the
investigation, he realizes that his crusade for justice may cost
him his soul, Levi his honor, and Natasha her life. When Michael
finally confronts the rapist, he turns out to be someone who was
there all along-but nobody noticed.
World-wide, hydropower facilities possess a significant amount of
installed electric generating capacity. IEA statistics indicate
that at the end of 2001 there was in excess of 450,000 MW of
installed capacity within IEA member countries, with about half in
Europe and half in North America. In addition to conventional
hydropower, there is more than 80,000 MW of installed pumped-hydro
capacity in IEA countries. In contrast, utility-scale wind power is
relatively new in the electric market, but increasing rapidly. This
book describes the background, concepts, issues and conclusions
related to the feasibility of integrating wind and hydropower. It
also describes in detail the study methodologies and participant
case studies.
