Comedy starring Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson as three men in different stages of life competing to become champion birdwatchers. Stu (Martin) is a successful business executive on the brink of retirement. Brad (Black), the youngest of the three, works as a computer programmer but lacks direction and focus in his life. Meanwhile, the obsessive and unscrupulous Kenny (Wilson) will stop at nothing to hold onto his title of World's Greatest Birder. As they travel the length and breadth of North America as participants of the 'Big Year' competition, in which birders compete to spot the greatest number of bird species in the United States over the course of one year, the three men discover as much about themselves and each other as they do about America's bird population.
Based on the Novel and with an Introduction by James Ellroy L.A. Confidential Now a Major Motion Picture from Warner Bros. Los Angeles in the early '50s. A booming city anxious to shed its small-town skin. A city being touted as the metropolis of the future, L.A. is practically paradise on earth. That's the image. The reality is something different. From its fabulous mansions to its sizzling nightclubs, it's a city of corruption, double-dealing, and dangerous passions. A horrific mass murder shatters the simmering facade as three cops, each with his own private agenda for solving the case, are inextricably linked in a dangerously tightening spiral where justice and truth may cost them everything. Based on James Ellroy's epic masterpiece, this screenplay of L.A. Confidential is being published to coincide with the release of the Warner Bros. film starring Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce, James Cromwell, David Strathairn, Kim Basinger, and Danny DeVito. Confidentialis an almost overwhelming reminder of the pleasures of deeply involving narratives in the old Hollywood sense." -Todd McCarthy, Daily Variety
