While painting a mural in his building, Carmen meets Adrian. He is gorgeous, wealthy, and intrigued by Carmen who is different from any woman he has ever known. He recognizes that it is the human side of Carmen that attracts him; he feels young and alive again. Carmen can't help loving Adrian, though she is frightened of his darker side. He is second in command of the largest, most powerful secret vampire society ever.
