Finding Dignity at the End of Life discusses the need for
palliative care as a human right and explores a whole-person
methodology for use in treatment. The book examines the concept of
palliative care as a holistic human right from the perspective of
multiple aspects of faith, ideology, culture, and nationality.
Integrating a humanities-based approach, chapters provide detailed
discussions of spirituality, suffering, and healing from scholars
from around the world. Within each chapter, the authors address a
different cultural and religious focus by examining how this topic
relates to questions of inherent dignity, both ethically and
theologically, and how different spiritual lenses may inform our
interpretation of medical outcomes. Mental health practitioners,
allied professionals, and theologians will find this a useful and
reflective guide to palliative care and its connection to faith,
spirituality, and culture.

The influence of nutrition on cognition and behaviour is a topic of
increasing interest. Emerging evidence indicates that nutrition in
early life can influence later mental performance and that diet in
later life can reduce cognitive decline. Lifetime nutritional
influences on cognition, behaviour and psychiatric illness reviews
the latest research into the effects of nutrition on cognition and
behaviour across the lifespan and on psychiatric illness. Part one
investigates nutritional influences on brain development and
cognition including the effects of early diet and the impact of key
dietary consistuents including long-chain polyunsaturated fatty
acids and iron. Part two explores the link between diet, mood and
cognition discussing carbohydrate consumption, mood and anti-social
behaviour, hydration and mental performance and the neurocognitive
effects of herbal extracts, among other topics. Part three examines
nutritional influences on behavioural problems, psychiatric illness
and cognitive decline, including the role of nutrition in attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder, vitamin status and psychiatric
disorders, antioxidants and dementia, and depression, suicide and
fatty acids. With its distinguished editor and international team
of expert contributors, Lifetime nutritional influences on
cognition, behaviour and psychiatric illness is a valuable
reference tool for researchers working on the effects of diet on
the brain in both academia and industry and may also appeal to
dieticians and nutritionists.
An Advanced Study Institute on the Biology of Aggression was held
in glorious weather between the twenty-first and thirtieth of July
1980, at the Chateau de Bonas, Gers, France. The Institute was
arranged by a scientific organizing committee consisting of Drs.
Paul Brain and David Benton of the University College of Swansea,
Wales, U.K. This book reflects the papers presented at the A.S.I.,
and the arrangement of the book parallels the pro gramme. The
particular objective was to concentrate on recent research on
aggression from the viewpoint of the diverse biological disciplines
that have examined the topic. A major theme that emerged was the
failure of direct reductionist approaches that look for simple
relationships between biological variables and 'aggression'. As may
have been predicted, there was also con siderable debate about the
definition of the term aggression and its associated positive and
negative implications. The organizers would like to express their
appreciation to Professor and Madame Simon for their foresight in
founding the Association Scientifique Cu1tu e11e et Educative de
Bonas and their enthusiasm in designing and converting the Chateau
de Bonas to produce a unique conference centre, a venue that
greatly facilitated this A.S.I.'s objectives. Greatfu1 thanks are
also due to the Faculty who selflessly gave of their time; to Dr."

Good and Evil - I Walk A Crooked Line is a not like any book you
have ever read. It is about a person's internal battle to do good
over evil. This book is about YOU Listen - "For we know that the
law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I
do I know not: for not what I would, that do I practice; but what I
hate, that I do. But if what I would not, that I do, I consent unto
the law that it is good. So now it is no more I that do it, but sin
which dwelleth in me. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh,
dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but to do
that which is good is not. For the good which I would I do not: but
the evil which I would not, that I practice. But if what I would
not, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth
in me. I find then the law, that, to me who would do good, evil is
present. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but
I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my
mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is
in my members. Wretched man that I am Who shall deliver me out of
the body of this death?" This book discusses good and evil, good vs
evil, of good and evil, beyond good and evil, evil good and good
evil, the good and the evil, and good from evil. Written by one of
the nation's leading behavioral scientists, Dr. Leland Benton is a
best-selling Amazon author with over 200-books published on Amazon

This study explores whether the current United States military
strategy should focus more on a comprehensive interagency approach
as a more efficient way of focusing all elements of national power
to defeat our enemies in the Long War on Terrorism. The method used
to determine this question is initially accomplished by framing the
scope of the current operating environment in the context of Fourth
Generation Warfare. The definition of Fourth Generation Warfare is
developed based on Col. Thomas X. Hammes' writings and then is
further developed to show relevance and applicability to current
operations in the Long War on Terrorism. A comparative analysis is
conducted by utilizing a single case study of the United States
experience during Vietnam. This is done to develop an understanding
of the Civil Operations and Revolutionary Development Support
(CORDS) program in order to gain an understanding of the lessons
learned while conducting interagency operations during the Vietnam
conflict. The analysis identifies how the collaboration and
coordination of all governmental agencies was used to conduct
operations during Vietnam. These lessons are then compared to the
current written policy and guidance and then assessed to determine
if an appropriate level of synchronization and coordination are
currently being utilized to meet our National objectives in the
Long War on Terrorism within the context of the current operating
environment. The findings of this study are that the current United
States military strategy is making considerable progress within
this context. This study also concludes that the national strategy,
however, should focus even more on a comprehensive interagency
approach as a more efficient way of focusing all elements of
national power to defeat our enemies in the Long War on Terrorism.

Mind Sciences - The Power of Focus & Application - Targeting
the Human Mind describes in detail the science behind the power of
focus and application, how to improve focus, improving focus, focus
power, increase focus, and memory improvement. The human mind
concentrates or is targeted on something or some object but can be
focused on something else. A good example of this is reading a book
but your mind is wandering on another subject; maybe a problem or a
person or whatever. I know everybody has had this occur in their
lifetime; many all too often. Focus & Application, when taken
in concert, will allow an individual the ability to achieve
whatever is focused upon. Written by one of the nation's leading
behavioral scientists, Dr. Leland Benton is the author of over two
dozen self-help books and nonfiction behavioral science texts. He
is a best-selling Amazon author with over 200-books published on
Amazon alone. This fascinating study is a must-read book because it
unlocks the power of the human mind. Get your copy today
ISBNS - International Standard Book Numbers: A Desktop Resource For
Self-Publishing Authors is an author's resource about a subject
they hear about all of the time and that publishing platforms
require but most authors really don't know anything about ISBNs. I
have 10-years of college and five degrees. People expect me to know
things that I simply don't know and sometimes don't want to know. I
sincerely could have done without the knowledge of colonics and
what a "Brazilian" is when the girls in my office began gabbing
about these two subjects. I always thought a Brazilian was a tiny
little dude from Rio de Janero...no it's not...go with me on this
one. I'm still trying to figure out the lyrics to the 60s song
"Louie Louie" and I have no idea where flies sleep at night (lol).
So much for 10-years of college Here's my point: there are some
things we encounter daily that we know little about but use these
things daily too. Furthermore, we also use words in our speech and
writing that we don't REALLY know what they mean or have a very
slight understanding to their meaning. ISBNs are one such subject.
When I woke up to this realization, I decided to publish desktop
compendiums where readers could access information quickly and
learn things that they needed to know. My first compendium was
titled "Latin Phrases." I was amazed at how often we use Latin
phrases in the English language but even more amazed how many of
these phrases the users didn't know the meaning of but used them
anyway. Phrases like "carpe diem (seize the day), non-sequitar (it
does not follow), or quid pro quo (this for that). To add some zest
to my Latin Phrases book, I even included some funny Latin phrases:
Volo anaticulam cumminosam meam - I want my rubber ducky Visne
saltare? Viam Latam Fungosam scio - Do you want to dance? I know
the Funky Broadway. Veni, Vidi, volo in domum redire - I came, I
saw, I want to go home. Vale, lacerte - See you later, alligator
Vah Denuone Latine loquebar? Me ineptum. Interdum modo elabitur -
Oh Was I speaking Latin again? Silly me. Sometimes it just sort of
slips out. Tum podem extulit horridulum - You are talking crap.
Since I wrote Latin Phrases I have introduced three other "phrase"
compendium books: Investment Phrases, Legal Phrases, Real Estate
Phrases. ISBNS - International Standard Book Numbers: A Desktop
Resource For Self-Publishing Authors is the fifth book in this
series and teaches a subject that all authors should know about in
detail. This book also addresses where authors can get ISBNs. The
prices are all over the board and I have provided resources where
you can acquire them reasonably.
