Este es el primero de varios libros con temas del folkor de Puerto Rico que, la autora espera, sean del agrado de muchos ninos con deseos de aprender sobre la cultura puertorriquena. La reina y el coqui fue escrito cuando la autora estaba en escuela intermedia. Este cuento fue inspirado por el senor Don Juan Boria, quien poseia ese talento unico de declamar poesia negroide. La historia comienza con la eleccion de la Reina Primorosa cuando, de repente, han sido interrumpidos por la presencia de Gatolan. El problema se desarrolla por una serie de malos entendidos pero, al final, todo se aclara y una leccion es aprendida. El segundo manuscrito fue inspirado por un suceso entre un coqui y la madre de la autora. Es una conversacion imaginaria entre un coqui y una jovencita. El mensaje es que algunos tienen el talento de persuadir y convencer a otros a llegar a un acuerdo pacificamente.
