When Paul Blake sits across from John Wallace-a complete stranger to him-at the coffeehouse where Paul spends many of his solitary evenings, he has no idea that meeting John will transform his life. Over coffee, they discuss Paul's work interviewing prisoners and writing reports concerning their mental statuses, as well as John's science fiction magazine. Eventually their conversation leads to talk of wormholes and intelligent life in alternate universes, about which John seems to have exceptional knowledge. When John asks Paul if he would be interested in becoming a genuine hero, Paul expresses interest in the idea. John explains that there is an alternate universe where humans are being threatened by mutants-and the survival of mankind may depend on Paul. According to John, the technology of this alternate world includes a machine that appoints armor and weaponry strength based on each warrior's recent lifestyle. In preparation for his adventure, Paul begins his training on Earth so that he can advance his battle prowess on the other side of the wormhole. As Paul trains for and awaits his mission, he meets a stunning beauty who sees glimpses of the future. He joins a revolutionary group and discovers an original approach to dream interpretation. It's all just part of the waiting game as Paul Blake, average guy, becomes Paul Blake-man's last chance for survival.

When author Dan Gollub discovers a new approach to interpreting dreams, it appears valid, easy to use, and of immense practical benefit. He publishes several articles about his discovery, which to his surprise and dismay do not attract any attention. How can he spread the word? Can he acquire fame for his dream interpretation theories by becoming a rock star or a bull rider? Not likely. Instead, Gollub decides to lay the groundwork for the acceptance of his dream interpretation approach by making intellectual discoveries that the world will value. He enrolls in biology, neuroscience, and psychology classes at universities and furthers his knowledge of the human mind. He continues working as a psychologist, initially with developmentally disabled residents at an institution, then with disturbed teenagers at a mental hospital, and finally with prisoners at a correctional facility. Through a series of journal entries, "Diary of a Dream Interpreter" follows Gollub on his quest to find an audience for his dream interpretation innovations. While many entries reflect his rewarding and intense work experiences, others focus on Gollub's belief that spirits make patient, gentle efforts to help him. "Diary of a Dream Interpreter" reveals the ups and downs of a man determined to bring his newly acquired knowledge to the world.
This book is written for anyone who wants to know what dreams mean. It is straightforward, clear and unpretentious in style, and requires no previous knowledge of dream interpretation theories or of psychological jargon. It will enable readers to interpret their dreams on their own without having to rely on a therapist's supervision. It also explains how dreams reflect innermost thoughts, feelings, and behavioural inclinations, with an original, interesting, and easy-to-apply approach. This book provides a new approach to interpret dreams which explains how the reader can identify the psychodynamic meaning present in dreams. This new approach hypothesises that dreams follow an emotional pattern. An awareness of that pattern will help readers understand the emotional significance of dream content and the understanding of that emotional significance will lead to a realisation of cognitive messages present in 'mysterious' dream plots.
