Parasite takes place in Burlington, Vermont where the majority of residents in the state believe that a creature similar to the Loch Ness monster prowls the depths of Lake Champlain. This legend began nearly 200 years ago and today the residents have named the "monster" CHAMP. Hundreds of thousand CHAMP posters, flyers and other paraphernalia have been sold over the years and have helped to boost the state's economy. But the legend does not stop there. Towns in New York bordering the lake have adopted CHAMP as their mascot. The legend is called into question when Steve's brother is reported missing after patrolling the lake in a blinding rainstorm. In an effort to find his brother, Steve suddenly stumbles on a frightening and bizarre plot to keep people away from the lake. Now he's faced with a couple of serious problems: trying to figure out what happened to his brother and debunking the theory that CHAMP actually exists. And why the usually abundant fish population appears to be decreasing in size. PARASITE is full of romance, mystery and suspense. It should keep the reader and/or viewer in awe right up until the very last page
Shots echoed across a large cornfield in Radford, Va., during the cold, early morning of October 1978. Minutes later, a terrified man was seen running for his life across an open field and into a maze of corn stalks. Hot on Stephen Becker's heels was a pack of bloodhounds and a ruthless man with only one thought in mind; catch Becker and silence him. Why would anyone want to harm Becker unless he was hiding a secret that might uncover a conspiracy involving several very influential people. For many years Becker has lived with this secret. But now that it's effecting his families health, and perhaps the health of others, he's willing to risk his life to expose it for what it is. In a word, deadly. Acre Beyond the Rye is a suspenseful and exciting book with characters that you'll long remember after you finish reading it.
Daniel (Dan) Hood, and the Clements brothers, Rolly and Donald are senior citizens living a life of leisure. Now retired, they often reminisce about the trials and tribulations that confronted their Doo-Wop singing group, The Sophomores while trying to achieve stardom more than 44 years ago. Suddenly, they are thrust back into the limelight when they're asked to perform at Boston Symphony Hall during an awards ceremony. However, they're faced with a couple of very serious problems. First and foremost, not only have they been out of contact with each other for a long time, they haven't sung together since 1972 when their voices were strong and vibrant. Secondly, Dan is shocked to learn that their lead singer, Major "Eddie" Brooks has died and he doubts if anyone can replace him. The Sophomores, and me is the story about how these three, aging, life-long friends, with the help of another famous singer, muster up enough strength, determination and courage to overcome these problems. One member of the Sophomores in particular, finds an answer to many personal questions that have troubled him throughout his life. Ironically, a series of unexpected events also takes place that help to bring closure to someone he thought he'd never see again.
Lobrigolin and the Book of the Ogham is the exciting follow up to Daniel W. Hood's first book, Lobrigolin and the Forest of Fear. In this thrilling sequel, Lobrigolin's long, perilous journey nearly comes to a tragic end when he's captured by a mad hermit, thrust into a civil war in Italy, and held hostage by a wicked, devious ruler. Filled with action, romance and intrigue, Lobrigolin and the Book of the Ogham describes in breath taking detail how he pursues his mysterious arch enemy known only as the Ghost across three continents. Armed with two mysterious artifacts that he knows very little about, Lobrigolin's pursuit lands him in England during the reign of King Edward I where more danger awaits him. Will his artifacts be enough to keep him out of harm's way? Or will it be a child with a surprising family background who leads him directly to the Ghost, but not without serious consequences?
