Various issues in scalable system design and placement algorithms for service nodes are discussed. Using existing network services as well as potentially new but useful services as examples, the authors formalize the problem of placing service nodes and provide practical solutions for them.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 10th IFIP/IEEE International Conference on Management of Multimedia and Mobile Networks and Services, MMNS 2007, held in San Jose, USA, October 31 - November 2, 2007 in the course of the 3nd International Week on Management of Networks and Services, Manweek 2007. The 14 revised full papers and 5 revised short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 46 submissions.
