The dark angel is disgusted with mankind: They have butchered each other. They have neglected and abused children and the elderly. They have murdered each other en masse. They've even created a system for the organized elimination of their own race. The dark angel believes it's time for the world to be destroyed. But the light angel disagrees. He believes there is still good in the world, and he resolves to find it. The light angel must locate ten righteous people-those who harbored purely evil souls, who conducted their lives committing heinous acts, but who have changed their ways of thinking, changed their morals, and changed their perspectives-their hearts and souls transformed into good. "Ten Righteous People" tells ten personal stories of good and evil. Among a drug cartel leader, a corrupt treasury accountant, mercenaries, and a Nazi soldier, there is a common battle. They must each confront the truth of their actions and make a critical, life-changing decision. The fate of the world depends on their repentance.
While growing up during the 1930s in Lodz, Poland, Adrian Nowak befriends Misha Coen, a Jewish boy who lives in his apartment building. As they play together and learn about each other's cultures and religions, the two boys look forward to the future. They have no idea of how things will change in 1939 when Nazi Germany invades their beloved country. On the day of Misha's Bar Mitzvah, he and his family are taken away by the SS. A few months later, Adrian is forcibly taken into German service and put to work at Treblinka and later Auschwitz-the two most notorious concentration camps in World War II. Subjected to years of subjugation and horror, Adrian is left in deep despair-until the day he catches a glimpse of Misha in a selection yard at Auschwitz. Thrilled to be together once again, Adrian and Misha find strength, faith, and hope in their morning prayers, the sacred Teffilin that Misha managed to save from his old life, and their friendship, as they both attempt to survive in the face of horrifying conditions. "Faith amid Darkness" provides a heartrending and surprising glimpse inside the brutality of the Holocaust.
When a baby girl is born in the Jewish village of Arad during the Exile period, more than 2,500 years ago, it is prophesied that she will be a memorable person who will do extraordinary things and be a savior for her people. Exceptionally intelligent, strikingly beautiful, and graced with wisdom few adults could claim, the girl born as Hadassah is indeed special, but her life is not easy. Her simple life is shattered when the Black Hundred destroy her village and kill her parents, brothers, and friends. Her family is gone, but her faith remains. She vows to seek justice for not only her family, but her fellow villagers. Hadassah's destiny begins to unfold when she enters the palace of the Persian king, eventually gaining the name Esther and becoming his queen. It's here, bolstered by an unusual and wonderful love, that she uses her unique talents to bring justice and prosperity to the land before embarking upon a final mission-a tragic and paradoxical one that takes her back to events painfully similar to the destruction of her childhood village.
In the fantasy novel, "Night Fell, Morning Rose" two star-crossed lovers embark on a romantic journey from ancient times to medieval England, through early America, and the Holocaust in Poland before finally reaching their destiny in today's world. Verna is a respected medicine woman and teacher in her ancient village and, as a result, she is a forbidden beauty. When she unexpectedly meets Dror, a ruggedly handsome warrior by the clear, blue waters of a local river, they immediately fall in love and their passion for each other drives their every thought and action from that point forward. Because Dror has emptied her of her innocence, Verna must now sentence her new lover to execution. Already convinced after just one encounter that she loves him, she agonizes over how to rescue him from his unfair fate. And so begin the mystical revelations that surround these two lovers as they continue to meet over the centuries but for one reason or another, cannot find a way to be together forever. Dror and Verna must persevere through incredible danger, weather catastrophes, horrifying experiences, and death in order to reach their destiny-no matter what it holds.
While running tests on a popular microprocessor, gifted chip designer Ethan Alon makes a puzzling discovery: an undocumented section with unknown functions. Ethan and his friend Rina Hardin crack the encryption and discover a clandestine network monitoring defense systems around the world, but especially focused on the Middle East. With the help of military analyst Barrett Parker, they discover the program is the work of scientists from Project Flower-an actual Israeli-Iranian missile program from the 1970s. These scientists came to mistrust politicians and generals and designed a system to prevent or at least limit wars. Their program is astounding, but it has a flaw-the Samson Heuristic. The flaw becomes apparent when intelligence operations come undone and overtax the system. American, Iranian, and Israeli militaries are on high alert, and war seems imminent. Ethan and Rina race to fix the Samson Heuristic while in a Tel Aviv command center-under the noses of generals who know nothing of Samson. Meanwhile, Barrett and like-minded analysts build opposition to war from inside bureaus in Washington and Jerusalem. The future of the Middle East lies in the balance.
This is my story - my life from the horrors of war and slaughter to the travails of change and atonement. For much of my life I lived in fear that my past would catch up to me. I hid my beliefs and prejudices and walked among the gentle, unsuspecting people of a small American town. I am, or was, an embodiment of madness, atrocity, cruelty and horror. I had to remind myself how to behave, react and interact with those around me. I could not pick my friends, neighbors or the people I would like to associate with. I could not express my desires and thoughts. I could not do what I wanted to do. I was locked inside a mad world without the ability to make any contribution, as I used to do - during the war and before it. Friends and neighbors? I shunned them. Social groups and religious organizations? I shunned them as well. Often I thought it better to turn myself in or die one way or another - just to get everything over with. That changed one day - a miraculous day when a young child came into my life and helped me back into life, reappraisal, and a quest for atonement. That young child was Jewish. And I am a former SS officer.
