The Word Biblical Commentary delivers the best in biblical
scholarship, from the leading scholars of our day who share a
commitment to Scripture as divine revelation. This series
emphasizes a thorough analysis of textual, linguistic, structural,
and theological evidence. The result is judicious and balanced
insight into the meanings of the text in the framework of biblical
theology. These widely acclaimed commentaries serve as exceptional
resources for the professional theologian and instructor, the
seminary or university student, the working minister, and everyone
concerned with building theological understanding from a solid base
of biblical scholarship. Overview of Commentary Organization
Introduction-covers issues pertaining to the whole book, including
context, date, authorship, composition, interpretive issues,
purpose, and theology. Each section of the commentary includes:
Pericope Bibliography-a helpful resource containing the most
important works that pertain to each particular pericope.
Translation-the author's own translation of the biblical text,
reflecting the end result of exegesis and attending to Hebrew and
Greek idiomatic usage of words, phrases, and tenses, yet in
reasonably good English. Notes-the author's notes to the
translation that address any textual variants, grammatical forms,
syntactical constructions, basic meanings of words, and problems of
translation. Form/Structure/Setting-a discussion of redaction,
genre, sources, and tradition as they concern the origin of the
pericope, its canonical form, and its relation to the biblical and
extra-biblical contexts in order to illuminate the structure and
character of the pericope. Rhetorical or compositional features
important to understanding the passage are also introduced here.
Comment-verse-by-verse interpretation of the text and dialogue with
other interpreters, engaging with current opinion and scholarly
research. Explanation-brings together all the results of the
discussion in previous sections to expose the meaning and intention
of the text at several levels: (1) within the context of the book
itself; (2) its meaning in the OT or NT; (3) its place in the
entire canon; (4) theological relevance to broader OT or NT issues.
General Bibliography-occurring at the end of each volume, this
extensive bibliographycontains all sources used anywhere in the
commentary.

The surprising story of the movement to create a truly democratic
foreign policy by engaging ordinary Americans in world affairs. No
major arena of US governance is more elitist than foreign policy.
International relations barely surface in election campaigns, and
policymakers take little input from Congress. But not all Americans
set out to build a cloistered foreign policy "establishment." For
much of the twentieth century, officials, activists, and academics
worked to foster an informed public that would embrace
participation in foreign policy as a civic duty. The first
comprehensive history of the movement for "citizen education in
world affairs," Every Citizen a Statesman recounts an abandoned
effort to create a democratic foreign policy. Taking the lead
alongside the State Department were philanthropic institutions like
the Ford and Rockefeller foundations and the Foreign Policy
Association, a nonprofit founded in 1918. One of the first
international relations think tanks, the association backed local
World Affairs Councils, which organized popular discussion groups
under the slogan "World Affairs Are Your Affairs." In cities across
the country, hundreds of thousands of Americans gathered in homes
and libraries to learn and talk about pressing global issues. But
by the 1960s, officials were convinced that strategy in a nuclear
world was beyond ordinary people, and foundation support for
outreach withered. The local councils increasingly focused on those
who were already engaged in political debate and otherwise decried
supposed public apathy, becoming a force for the very elitism they
set out to combat. The result, David Allen argues, was a chasm
between policymakers and the public that has persisted since the
Vietnam War, insulating a critical area of decisionmaking from the
will of the people.
Neville Goddard: The Complete Reader, Includes all 10 of Neville
Goddard's Spiritual Classics: At Your Command, Awakened Imagination

extraneous text injected by overzealous editors or publishers.
These are the words as intended by Goddard, pure and unadulterated.
If you are familiar with this great American mystic, this will be a
goldmine of spiritual wisdom in one book. If you are new to his
writings, you are in for a spiritual journey that will last a
life-time. Read this book not once or twice, but devour it with the
fervor of a search for the Holy Grail. For if your desires are
noble, and your quest is true, you will find what you seek within
these pages.
This is a new book on the integrated management of vulvovaginal
disease. The authors come from a variety of backgrounds -
gynaecology, dermatology, pathology and psychology - and describe a
multidisciplinary approach to these conditions. The book has the
most complete classification of vulvovaginal disease published,
based on the etiology of 275 conditions; coverage includes benign,
malignant, and functional (including psychosexual) diseases. Each
disease has a descriptive summary, pathological features, and
treatment guidelines. The book is illustrated in full color
throughout.
An artist's uniquely personal journey across America In the
nineteenth century, ornithologist and painter John James Audubon
set out to create a complete pictorial record of North American
birdlife, traveling from Louisiana and the Florida Keys to the Gulf
of Saint Lawrence and the cliffs of the Yellowstone River. The
resulting work, The Birds of America, stands as a monumental
achievement in American art. Over a period of sixteen years,
recording his own journey in journals and hundreds of original
paintings, renowned French watercolorist Denis Clavreul followed in
the naturalist's footsteps. In the Footsteps of Audubon brings
together some 250 of Clavreul's stunning watercolors along with
illuminating selections from Audubon's journals and several of his
paintings. With pencil and brush in hand, Clavreul turns his
naturalist's eye and painterly skill to the landscapes that Audubon
encountered on his travels, and to the animals and plants that
Audubon depicted in his art. A passionate ornithologist, Clavreul
sketches birds in the wild with rare dexterity, bringing them
vividly to life on the page. He documents his encounters along the
way with people who live with nature, many of whom are passionately
engaged in preserving it, drawing on his insights as both a
biologist and an artist to connect the past, present, and future. A
spellbinding, richly evocative journey, In the Footsteps of Audubon
is an invitation to see the natural world as Audubon saw it-and to
see with new eyes what it has become today.
A new, full color book on the integrated management of vulvovaginal
disease, The Vulva and Vagina Manual presents the most complete
published classification of vulvovaginal disease, based on the
etiology of 275 conditions. Covering the management of benign,
malignant, and functional diseases, including those of a
psychosexual nature, each disease featured has a descriptive
summary, pathological features, and treatment guidelines, thus
ensuring that the book is easy to use and follow. Written by
authors from a variety of backgrounds - gynecology, dermatology,
pathology and psychology -- and backed by the International Society
for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease, this multidisciplinary work
is undoubtedly an important resource for gynecologists,
dermatologists, obstetricians, midwives, genitourinary physicians,
STD physicians and all those treating vulvovaginal disease.

Although a technique for hydraulic fracturing - more commonly known
as fracking - was developed and implemented in the 1970s in Texas,
fracking of the Marcellus Shale formation that stretches from West
Virginia through Pennsylvania to New York did not begin in earnest
until the twenty-first century. Unconventional natural gas
production via fracking has ignited debate, challenged regulators,
and added to the complexity of twenty-first-century natural
resource management. Through a longitudinal study taken from 2000
to 2015, Jonathan M. Fisk, Soren Jordan, and A. J. Good examine how
the management of natural resources functions relative to specific
regulatory actions including inspections, identifying violations,
and the use of specific regulatory tools. Ultimately, they find
that factors as disparate as state policy goals, elected officials,
the availability of data, inspectors, front-line staff, and the use
of technology form a context that, in turn, shapes the use of
specific regulatory tools and decisions
"Criminals and Victims" presents an economic analysis of decisions
made by criminals and victims of crime before, during, and after a
crime or victimization occurs. Its main purpose is to illustrate
how the application of analytical tools from economics can help us
to understand the causes and consequences of criminal and victim
choices, aiding efforts to deter or reduce the consequences of
crime. By examining these decisions along a logical timeline over
which crimes take place, we can begin to think more clearly about
how policy effects change when it is targeted at specific decisions
within the body of a crime.
This book differs from others by recognizing the timeline of a
crime, paying particular attention to victim decisions, and
examining each step in the crime cycle at the micro-level. It
demonstrates that criminals plan their crimes in systematic,
economically logical ways; that deterring the destruction of
criminal evidence may deter crime in general; and that white-collar
criminals exhibit recidivism patterns not unlike those of street
criminals. It further shows that the degree of criminality in a
society motivates a variety of self-protection behaviors by
potential victims; that not all victim resistance makes matters
worse (and some may help); and that victims who report their crimes
do not receive high returns for going to the police, helping to
explain why some crimes ultimately go unreported.

This stunning edition of one of the most celebrated and highly
valued natural history books of all time features impeccably
reproduced images of Audubon's original watercolors, along with an
introduction by world-renowned ornithologist David Allen Sibley.
First published in installments between 1827 and 1838, John James
Audubon's collection of life-sized watercolors of North American
birds is the standard against which all wildlife illustration is
measured. Fewer than 120 copies survive today, locked away in
museums and private collections around the world. For this volume,
the Natural History Museum in London disbound one of the two
original editions it owns, and each of the 435 exquisite
hand-colored prints of the original watercolours were photographed
using the latest digital scanning technology. From an avocet
grazing in a tidal pond to a zenaida dove perched on a flowering
branch, each of Audubon's subjects is depicted with the grace and
beauty of a living bird in its natural habitat. An avid outdoorsman
and explorer, Audubon traveled from Florida to Labrador to Texas
and the Dakotas to study and collect his specimens. Straddling the
line between science and art, this book mesmerized 19th-century
audiences around the world; today it stands as a reminder of the
spectacular biodiversity of the North American continent, and of
the pioneer spirit that Audubon himself revered.
What is an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled drone and what can
it do? Are AI-enabled drones better than human-controlled drones?
This book will answer these questions and more, and empower you to
develop your own AI-enabled drone. You'll progress from a list of
specifications and requirements, in small and iterative steps,
which will then lead to the development of Unified Modeling
Language (UML) diagrams based in part to the standards established
by for the Robotic Operating System (ROS). The ROS architecture has
been used to develop land-based drones. This will serve as a
reference model for the software architecture of unmanned systems.
Using this approach you'll be able to develop a fully autonomous
drone that incorporates object-oriented design and cognitive deep
learning systems that adapts to multiple simulation environments.
These multiple simulation environments will also allow you to
further build public trust in the safety of artificial intelligence
within drones and small UAS. Ultimately, you'll be able to build a
complex system using the standards developed, and create other
intelligent systems of similar complexity and capability.
Intelligent Autonomous Drones with Cognitive Deep Learning uniquely
addresses both deep learning and cognitive deep learning for
developing near autonomous drones. What You'll Learn Examine the
necessary specifications and requirements for AI enabled drones for
near-real time and near fully autonomous drones Look at software
and hardware requirements Understand unified modeling language
(UML) and real-time UML for design Study deep learning neural
networks for pattern recognition Review geo-spatial Information for
the development of detailed mission planning within these hostile
environments Who This Book Is For Primarily for engineers, computer
science graduate students, or even a skilled hobbyist. The target
readers have the willingness to learn and extend the topic of
intelligent autonomous drones. They should have a willingness to
explore exciting engineering projects that are limited only by
their imagination. As far as the technical requirements are
concerned, they must have an intermediate understanding of
object-oriented programming and design.
The more power that rests with the people, the less there is for
powerful minority global actors to wield. This remains true whether
or not the people are right or wrong, because itās still the
safest place for real power to reside. Unfortunately, the direction
of travel is the opposite way. The Living VoteĀ describes a
uniquely new mechanism to significantly extend the engagement of
voters and to moderate the unlimited power our governments can
wield. Unlike the usual outcomes from other more proportional
systems, coalitions will not be necessary. The Living
VoteĀ describes what we should be doing and how to achieve it.
