This handsome catalogue accompanies an exhibition celebrating the
bicentenary of the 60-year reign of King George III. It presents
one mezzotint portrait for each year of his reign. Mad about
Mezzotint traces the history of mezzotint in the reign of King
George III by looking at three aspects of the art form: the
astonishing method of mezzotint, the absorbing history of the form
in the late eighteenth century and Regency period and the endless
fascination with London as a subject. Although the mezzotint
originated in Germany as early as 1642, its golden age came in
England in the eighteenth century. Its beauty lay in its ability to
create the subtlety of tone found in an oil painting. Crowds
marvelled at the new technique and seized upon the opportunity to
popularize their work and disseminate their images more widely.
Conditions in eighteenth-century London were ripe for this
revolution in printing. England had a new king and queen on the
throne, an ever-expanding court and flourishing commercial
interests overseas. The city of London was expanding at an
astonishing rate and money was pouring into the capital. This fully
illustrated publication includes an introduction on the history of
mezzotint and full catalogue of the works, as well as indexes of
artists and persons depicted. Artists featured include Valentine
Green, John Hoppner, John Jones, Joshua Reynolds, George Romney and
Charles Turner. People depicted include King George, George, Prince
of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, Admiral Horatio
Nelson and Earl and Lady Spencer.
This is a movement to change the future by focusing on universal
ethics and the children we raise.

This Siddur concentrates on restoring the Shabbat service back to
the 1st century C.E. times when the Temple still stood and when
Y'shua walked the earth. Unlike most Siddurs, Messianic or Judaism,
this Siddur focuses on what was done in Israel in the 1st century
C.E. and not what was done in Babylon, as the current Siddurs of
today follow. ( The timeline that this Siddur is constructed from
is before the first century common era up to the time of the second
printed siddur of Saadia Gaon.-about 950 c.e.) As well many
Messianic Siddurs whatever their view of what Messianic Judaism is,
try to blend their Messianic Judaism with what is being done in
current Judaism (Mainly Orthodox), never realizing that current
Judaism has gone through numerous changes and only in minor detail
still reflects the Second Temple times. In constructing this
Siddur, I followed all the Jewish guidelines, protocalls, formulas
and goals of all the prayers, but wrote them to reflect belief in
Y'shua as the Torah Observant Jewish Messiah. Directions for each
of the services included in this Siddur are given before the index.
A Passover Haggadah is included in the back of the book. In
addition to all the extras that this Siddur has, there are 35 pages
of notes and commentary included. This Siddur is not a true "Large
Print," however nearly all of the fonts range from 12-14. Hardcover
available at www.Lulu.com Originally, I had released the "Shamar
Emet Deluxe Edition" which included everything that this Siddur
contains, but noticed a number of areas that needed improvement.
The fonts in the original release were a bit small, (8-10 fonts) so
in this edition, they range from 12-14 (very few and only book
titles in the "Extra's section in 10 font). It was also apparent
that the notes on the bottom of the page created an unnecessary
clutter. To correct this, most of the notes were moved to the back
of the Siddur, with only a few notes on the Siddur pages that I
felt were necessary. In addition more notes/commentary were added
to the back of the Siddur that were not in the original Siddur. In
the original Siddur people were finding the way the instructions
were presented at the bottom of the page confusing. To rectify this
problem and make things easier, the instructions have been
re-written more clearly and placed before the index. (A Parashot
Reading list has also been added, you will still need to consult a
schedule for the proper weeks reading list.) Since the release of
the "Deluxe Edition," I have learned a lot and have added to the
benedictions and prayers as well as the insights. The layout of the
English/Hebrew/Transliteration has been improved.. Hope you enjoy
this Edition and may G-d bless you R' David Isaac The following are
included in this Edition: Parashot List (Includes Readings for Rosh
Chodesh), Directions given for each Service Includes the following
Services: Season of our Freedom- Four Week Preparation for Pesach
Shabbat haGadol, Counting of the Omer, Announcement of the New
Moon, Rosh Chodesh, Passover Haggadah, Four Special Sabbaths:
Shekalim/ Zachor/ Para/ Hahodesh, Includes Optional Prayers that
can be added to Service: Disciple's Prayer (a.k.a -The L-rd's
Prayer), The Havineinu, Prayer of Rabbi Judah the Prince, This

Evolutionary short stories by David Maldonado A Suspense Thriller
that will have you holding on to your seat with the roller coaster
ride of twists and turns. The first story starts with a newly
married couple in Love making the perfect lives for themselves.
Nothing will ever go wrong in their perfect lives or at least that
is what they thought. Things start to change with the disappearance
of a child. The list of suspects starts to grow and the search for
the killer(s) continues on. The Peaceful Mountain town they had
called home becomes more of a nightmare than a dream. The stories
that continue tell more of the people of the town and their
adventures that many times became even more horrifying.
The compelling story of vaccination. We may fear terrorist attacks,
but in truth humans have always had far more to fear from
infections. In 1919, Spanish flu killed over 50 million people,
more than died in both world wars combined. In 1950, an estimated
50 million people caught smallpox worldwide, of whom 10 million
died. In 1980, before measles vaccine was widely used, an estimated
2.6 million children died of measles every year. Today we are
hostage to a new pandemic disease -the seemingly unstoppable
COVID-19. Less than 100 years ago, losing a child to an infection
like diphtheria or polio was a dreaded but almost inevitable sorrow
faced by all parents, from the richest to the poorest. Today, these
killer diseases are almost never seen in industrialised countries,
thanks to the development of vaccines. Immunisation has given
modern parents peace of mind their ancestors could not imagine. The
history of vaccination is rich with trial, error, sabotage and
success. It encompasses the tragedy of lives lost, the drama of
competition and discovery, the culpability of botched testing, and
the triumph of effective, lifelong immunity. Yet with the
eradication in the first world of some of humanity's deadliest
foes, complacency in some quarters has set in. COVID-19 has us
again racing for a vaccine. The story of past achievements and
failures helps us keep the race - and the hope - in perspective.
This is a book for everyone who wants to understand our past - and
cares about our future. PRAISE 'Anyone who has doubts about the
life-saving miracle of vaccination should read this' Steven

that is sure to delight general readers' Australian Book Review
'The ideal handbook for pregnant women, parents, travellers,
childcare and aged-care workers, GPs and anyone with an interest in
public health' The Australian 'Isaacs explores the understanding of
immunity as it develops from the fifth century BC to the present
day and thrills us with the progressive successes of each of the 14
vaccines which a child routinely receives today ... The work is
authoritative, beguiling, amusing, instructive and inspirational.
It deserves a wide readership, including infectious disease
experts, other health professionals and, most assuredly, a
diversity of lay people' Sir Gustav Nossal, immunologist and
director of The Walter and Eliza Institute of Medical Research,

accessible, Defeating the Ministers of Death brilliantly reveals
the people behind the most important public health intervention in
history' Professor Andrew J Pollard, Department of Paediatrics,

triumphs and inevitable tragedies in the war against infectious
diseases. Nonfiction is at its best when it reads like fiction. And
David Isaacs has written a page turner' Paul A. Offit, MD, author

In Science Myths Unmasked Volume 2, David Rudel continues to expose
common errors in science education. This sequel takes the
discussion into the realm of physical science, rectifying commonly
taught misconceptions about topics covered in chemistry and physics
courses, including combustion, simple machines, states of matter,
phase changes, electricity, and light.
Rudel's accessible style makes Science Myths Unmasked a
worthwhile read for life-long learners and a great gift for bright
high school students interested in all the myths they have been
taught by inaccurate textbooks. State-adopted textbooks perpetrate
(and perpetuate) a shocking degree of misinformation, largely
because they are less interested in conveying accurate science than
in training students to bubble in the right oval on
multiple-choice, standardized tests.
Rudel provides thorough background for each topic, empowering
science teachers to sculpt the material to match the needs of their
students. Numerous illustrations and suggested experiments
complement the coverage, portraying precisely why many standard
explanations are false and how we can better fulfill our obligation
to provide genuine science to middle school and high school
students.
David Rudel's debut book, Zuke 'Em -the Colle- Zukertort
Revolutionized, brought a fresh voice to chess in the summer of
2008. His clarity wooed class players while stronger readers
applauded his creativity and determination in finding new tries for
an advantage in lines long thought dead. Rudel now presents a work
aimed at all chess players. Bxh7+ is not so much a book but a
training kit demystifying Greco's sacrifice. Any serious player can
now attain a fluency with this tactic exceeding that held by most
masters. Five easy lessons present essential guidelines, tools, and
tips for both attackers and defenders.
