For the next book in this middle-grade series, SpongeBob is back
with a new partner and a new case that will take them through the
mysterious corners of Bikini Bottom's theater world The Bikini
Bottom Community Theater is on its last legs. Luckily, an eccentric
director comes to town to stage a new play, sure to grab everyone's
attention--even King Neptune's! If the show is a success, the
theater is bound to be saved. But when a series of disastrous
mishaps occur, the stage is set . . . for a mystery! Enter
Detective SpongeBob SquarePants and his new partner, Sandy Cheeks.
In order to crack this case, they'll have to step out of the
spotlight and into the shadows to discover just who is responsible
for all this drama. Can they solve the case before the theater is
closed for good?
There are few rivalries across history that are quite as formidable
as CATS vs. DOGS. In this fully illustrated joke book, they go
head-to-head-with a twist or two that may give you...paws.
Presented in tête-bêche format (read-from-both-sides), the first
half of the book consists of cat jokes told by a recurring cast of
dogs-What do you call an insect in a cat's bathroom? A litterbug!
But, flip the book over to start from the other side, and it
becomes a book of dog jokes told by cats: What's the difference
between kibble and a heavy mist? One is dog food, and the other is
fog, dude! In the middle spread, the casts of cartoon dogs and cats
come together for a midbook finale of, believe it or not, shared
giggles, snorts, and guffaws. The comic-book-style illustrations
throughout offer added layers of humour, funny visuals, and
wisecracking characters who don't just tell the jokes, but comment
on and react to them, too.
So gross and so funny! Grandma Gladys gripped her glass of greasy
gristle. Toad Lou's tofu is toe goo. Tot totes toy toilet. Let's
face it, kids can never get enough of stuff that's slimy, stinky,
sticky, and oozy. Combine it with the proven crowd-pleasing format
of a tongue twister, and the result is pure silly fun. Co-written
by Kit Lively, a veteran of MAD magazine, and David Lewman, an
author with riddle books in his resume, Twisted Tongues delivers
with 150 original tongue twisters featuring boogers, barf, drool,
mucus, pus, gas, poop, and all of the other utterly disgusting
things that kids obsess over. In addition to the tongue twisters,
the book is packed with delightfully gross illustrations, a
recurring comic strip starring two boogers, and wretched riddles
and repulsive facts. Did you know that Hippocrates, a doctor in
ancient Greece often called the father of medicine, tasted his
patients' earwax? (Ewwww.) So move over, boring woodchucks chucking
wood. And hello, Big bedbugs bite pet pugs' butts. And Professional
pimple popping produces plentiful pus. And Slobbering zombies
slumbering soundly.
