Unlike so many of his gay buddies who fantasized about finding a
dream lover, Chase Hyde had no plans to settle down. Being in top
shape allowed him to cruise West Hollywood for exhilarating muscle
sex with one hot bodybuilder after the next. A devout,
self-acknowledged "roamosexual," his foremost objection to settling
down was that having a partner would take him off the market. So
even if love was never in the air, lust was always just around the
corner.
Chase expected to continue his carefree lifestyle until, through
a correspondence in cyberspace, he met Hunter Rowe, an
up-and-coming Madison Avenue advertising executive and fellow
bodybuilder who pined for a long-term relationship. Driven by their
passion for muscle, the two men form an instant, powerful
connection and dive into an intense, long-distance love affair.
Neither Chase nor Hunter can imagine the twists of fate that await
in Muscle-Bound, a passionate tale about the turbulent pursuit of
sexual conquest set against the world of muscle obsession, gym
addiction and steroid abuse.
This book constitutes the proceedings of the Joint 2018 National
Conferences of the Australian Society for Operations Research
(ASOR) and the Defence Operations Research Symposium (DORS).
Offering a fascinating insight into the state of the art in
Australian operations research, this book is of great interest to
academics and other professional researchers working in operations
research and analytics, as well as practitioners addressing
strategic planning, operations management, and other data-driven
decision-making challenges in the domains of commerce, industry,
defence, the environment, humanitarianism, and agriculture. The
book comprises 21 papers on topics ranging from methodological
advances to case studies, and addresses application domains
including supply chains, government services, defence,
cybersecurity, healthcare, mining and material processing,
agriculture, natural hazards, telecommunications and
transportation. ASOR is the premier professional organization for
Australian academics and practitioners working in optimization and
other disciplines related to operations research. The conference
was held in Melbourne, Australia, in December 2018.
This report is an output of the fourth research track (Track 4) of
WERF's strategic asset management research program 'Asset
Management Communication and Implementation' (SAM1R06). Track 4
addressed 'remaining asset life', and had the overall objective of
contributing to the development of techniques, tools and methods
for estimating residual life of wastewater assets. Track 4 research
was planned to be undertaken in a staged manner, so as to provide a
stepwise development of concepts and protocols. To this end, the
research team has produced a synthesis of knowledge in relation to
"end of life" and "remaining asset life," which is the subject of
this report. Drawing on the literature and the knowledge-base of
the research team and industry partners, information is presented
on the range of factors that influence the life of the different
asset classes involved in the provision of wastewater services. A
taxonomy of asset life is also given, along with a critical review
of the conceptual linkages between risk, asset management and
remaining asset life. A review of techniques used to assess
remaining asset life is also included, as well as a detailed 'state
of the art' review of modeling tools and approaches. One of the key
questions to be addressed in this initial stage of the research was
the state of knowledge with respect to the estimation and
prediction of remaining asset life, and if there is the capacity to
translate between condition and performance data (e.g. the presence
of significant defects) and the residual life of an asset. In this
regard, this report builds on previous work undertaken by the
research team into protocols for condition and performance
assessments, as detailed in WERF (2007).
