This second volume on the ancient rural spa at Mezzomiglio, in use
from at least the 2nd century BC, and flourishing in the 2nd
century AD, reports on the finds from excavations conducted in
2002-10. The vast majority of the book is given over to presenting
and analysing the pottery to give a detailed picture of occupation
of the site and its integration into the wider economy. The volume
also presents computer generated reconstructions of the site's
structures.
Oxbow says: A report on the findings of research and excavations
carried out by the University of Arizona at the ancient spa complex
of Mezzomiglio in Tuscany. Located near a cold water spring, the

century AD onwards. This volume comprises fourteen thematic
chapters which look at different aspects of the site and findings
from the excavations, including: the springs of Chianciano Terme;
historical investigations in the region; geophysical survey;
excavation; brickstamps; material culture; plant remains, fauna;
human remains. Text is in English and Italian.
