To fully utilize Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, a comprehensive and well-organized compilation of NMR data is necessary. While compilations have been available for other important NMR nuclei, such as carbon and fluorine, no comprehensive collection of data has been prepared for phosphorus-until now. The CRC Handbook of Phosphorus-31 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Data provides a collection of 31P NMR chemical shifts for nearly 20,000 organic and inorganic phosphorus compounds. Each class of phosphorus compound is discussed. Bond types, stereochemistry (with the exception of metal complexes), media, important coupling constants, and data sources are included. The information is systematically organized according to coordination state, the atoms bound to phosphorus, and their connectivities. A comprehensive series of bar charts is also included to allow structure types to be assigned to chemical shift data. This handbook is an invaluable resource for all scientists working with phosphorus compounds, including chemists, biochemists, medical researchers, and pharmaceutical chemists.

It is 1938 and Hitler is spreading his poison through Central Europe. With the world's press corps descending on Prague, a young man from London arrives in the city as an interpreter. His world is shaken as he witnesses dramatic and unsettling events.
Merce Cunningham reached the age of 75 in 1994, an age at which many creative artists are content to rest on their laurels, or at least to leave behind whatever controversies they may have caused during their careers. No so Cunningham. In the first place, his 70s have been a time of intense creativity in which he has choreographed as many as four new works a year. Cunningham is a strongly committed as ever to the discovery of new ways of moving and of making movement, refusing to be hampered by the physical limitations that have come with age. Since 1991 every new work has been made at least in part with the use of the computer program Life Forms, which enables him to devise choreographic phrases that he himself would be unable to perform - and which challenge and develop the virtuosity of the young dancers in his company. The essays collected in this special issue of Choreography and Dance were written over the last few years and discuss various aspects of the work of Cunningham as seen both from the outside and the inside.

Saxons of Old Sarum buried alive! The plague pits of Salisbury! Cathedral organist intent on murder! The book bound in human skin! Locked in a cage with criminal lunatics! A monocled killer! Salisbury has one of the most gruesome histories on record. Human remains filled its barrows, its nobles were tortured, its witches hanged and a deadly disease once lurked in its murky waters. There was no safety in its inns either, for one was plagued with suicides and another hid a severed hand. Even the introduction of the railways led to death and destruction. With more than sixty illustrations, hundreds of years of terrible true history are waiting for you inside this book!
Apostle of Liberty: The World-Changing Leadership of George Washington' is a biography of the great man, but in truth it is more than a mere biography. It also looks at his unique personal qualities as a leader and how these qualities marked him as a leader among leaders. In doing so, it reveals a man whose greatness did not stem from oratorical skills, superior knowledge, or brilliant military tactics, but from virtue. He understood his duty and his proper role in the fledgling nation, and he pursued it with an invincible resolution. Largely, this was due to his belief that God in his providence had chosen him to lead the new nation that was founded on liberty?civil, religious, and economic?and that the experiment that began under his leadership as president of the Constitutional Convention and was successful under his leadership in battle would prosper under his leadership and change the world if given the opportunity to succeed.

Written largely for a Christian audience, "The Beauty of Modesty" will fill a void in Christian publishing on this theme. It avoids being legalistic, parochial, or pietistic and so will be a popular resource for ministers, educators and an invaluable resource for parents who are fighting against the onslaught of sensuality and perversion their families face. The authors cover the subject under three main headings: the need for modesty, the nature of modesty and the nurture of modesty. In reviewing the need for modesty, the authors look at the decline of values and the sensuality that has taken their place. Rather than point their fingers at society at large, they insist that the problem exists because churches and families are doing nothing to inculcate an ethic of modesty in children, teenagers, or adults.

The Fourth Quadrant tells the tale of Anil Patel. A series of professional disasters force Anil (24, single and luckless) to swallow his pride and join the family business. But this is not the usual sort of family business. Not only is murder casually dropped into the job description, but our hero continually finds himself in situations that would have lesser men running for an easier line of work. Driven by financial necessity and the institutional lunacy of a multinational corporation, he leaves his home in Manchester and embarks on a trip to India, a return to his roots that will change his life forever. But there is more to life than business. Anil is also driven by the love of a girl. A love that grows stronger with each day of absence. The Fourth Quadrant describes a road trip in which the outer limits of love, stress and companion animal welfare are seen through the shimmering heat of Rajasthan. The people and events described will bring smiles of recognition to all.
