This timely and original book provides an exploration of the
factors that combine to determine the form of regulatory problems
and the overall success or failure of regulation. Using
environmental regulation as a basis for analysis, this book puts
forward a theoretical framework for the design of effective
regulation and demonstrates how businesses' compliance with
environmental regulation, in particular, could be improved. The
authors address previous shortcomings in regulatory explanations,
which have frequently overlooked the structural character of
regulation and underplayed how the factors involved work together
to determine regulatory shape and performance. In seeking to
address this deficit, the authors develop a compliance line to
demonstrate how different choices on how to regulate will affect
compliance outcomes. Chapters include a review of how regulation
has changed and sought to improve over the years, the relationship
between rule following and regulation, how regulation incorporates
and relies on necessary conditions, an identification of the
trade-offs involved in regulating, and a discussion of why
regulation is, by necessity and to a degree, unfair. Providing
theories for how regulation can be structured to improve
compliance, The Structure of Regulation will be a key resource for
students and academics in the fields of law and regulation,
environment studies, public policy and political science.
There is more to prayer than meets the eye; it can be hard work. In
Prayer: A Force that Causes Change, author David Williamson
analyzes how to pray and what to pray and provides a thorough
discussion of prayer and effective faith-filled prayers.
In this, his fourth volume, Williamson shares a series of
articles previously published in the weekly online newsletter Voice
of Thanksgiving. The articles promote power in prayer-prayer that
accomplishes God's plans and goals here on earth. In this
collection, Williamson continues with themes leading to power in
prayer: Partnership of God and man in prayer Dealing with faith
killers: doubt, fear, and unbelief Breaking down barriers to prayer
Components of effective prayer Breakthrough in prayer The articles
in Prayer: A Force that Causes Change illustrate how a life of
effective prayer is one of a close relationship to God and a life
filled with answers to prayers. Effective prayers can lead to
changes in people's lives, family, church, neighborhood, cities,
and nations. It shows how prayer opens doors that have previously
been closed.
Why prayer? Prayer is an expression of needs and faith, but also a
way to build a long-lasting relationship with God. In this third
volume of Faithful in Prayer, David Williamson shares a series of
articles that encourage prayer that, with God's answers, can
transform the seemingly impossible into something very possible.
Williamson is a regular speaker on prayer and Christian living
and through personal anecdotes and applicable scripture leads
others through the foundation of faith, ways to build faith for
effective prayer, and how to make a stand through prayer. Intended
to motivate others to think and dream big, Williamson's articles
teach specifically how to:
Believe God over the evidence Deal with unforgiveness Protect
the heart to keep out doubt Be bold in prayer and allow God to work
Live how He says we should live
God is calling for men and women to join with Him in the work
through prayer and action. Prayer: A Force That Causes Change
provides the encouragement, empowerment, and grace so that others
can be successful in prayer.
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is
impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26

Organized at Anderson, Indiana, in October 1862, the 47th Indiana
Volunteer Infantry's Civil War service spanned the Mississippi
Valley and the Gulf South. From Louisville to New Orleans and
Mobile to the Rio Grande, the regiment took the war to the inland
waterways and southern bayous, fighting in many of the Civil War's
most famous campaigns, including Vicksburg, Red River and Mobile.
This chronicle of the 47th Indiana follows the regiment's odyssey
through the words of its officers and men. Sources include Chaplain
Samuel Sawyer's account of his exploits in the Indianapolis Daily
Journal, soldiers' accounts in Indiana newspapers, stories of war
and intrigue from newspapermen of the Bohemian Brigade, and General
James R. Slack's own story in letters to his wife, Ann. Numerous
photographs, previously unpublished battle and area maps, and a
full regimental roster complete this detailed account.

This is the story of the soldiers of Hardcastle's 3rd Battalion
Mississippi Infantry from enlistment to the end of the war. It
includes their mid-war incarnation as the 45th Mississippi Regiment
and the role they played in Cleburne's fabled division during
almost every major engagement of the Army of Tennessee. Told as
much as possible from the point of view of the private soldier, the
book attempts to understand not only the causes of the Civil War,
but the social and political factors that motivated the original
volunteers to join and continue fighting to the end. The battles
are discussed and analyzed in their strategic context with emphasis
on the battalion's role in the outcome, including the specific
Federal units they fought against and first person accounts from
both sides about what happened. Twenty battles and skirmishes are
covered in detail, highlighted by excerpts from personal diaries.
Appendices include an annotated roster, the diary of Lieutenant
Samuel Asbury, the story of Captain John Sloan, and the stories of
the 3rd Mississippi Battalion's battle flag and the flag of the
Duncan Riflemen. An extensive bibliography completes the work.

In his latest play Australia's best known and multi-award winning
playwright David Williamson tackles the rise and rise of
ex-Australian citizen and one of the planets most powerful,
influential and feared men, Rupert Murdoch. Spanning most of
Murdochs lifetime -- from his early student days at Oxford to the
most recent phone hacking scandal that rocked News Corp. --
Williamson asks who the real Rupert Murdoch is and tries to uncover
what makes this complex and fascinating character tick. In the
process Williamson peels back the facade and we glimpse the
character of an 'apex predator' who almost single-handedly built a
media empire that spans the entire globe.
Set in both Melbourne and New York, 'Soulmates' is a tale of
revenge as a best selling expatriate author engineers a scheme to

that she and her husband Martin can't conceive - the only baby she
will ever bear is Kelly, the child she had for her sister.
