In recent years, building a corporate online presence has become nonnegotiable for businesses, as consumers expect to connect with them in as many ways as possible. There are benefits to companies that use online technology, but there are risks as well. Managing Online Risk presents the tools and resources needed to better understand the security and reputational risks of online and digital activity, and how to mitigate those risks to minimize potential losses. Managing Online Risk highlights security and risk management best practices that address concerns such as data collection and storage, liability, recruitment, employee communications, compliance violations, security of devices (in contexts like mobile, apps, and cloud computing), and more. Additionally, this book offers a companion website that was developed in parallel with the book and includes the latest updates and resources for topics covered in the book.
Whether attending conferences, visiting clients, or going to sales meetings, travel is an unavoidable necessity for many businesspeople. Today s high-tech enabled businessperson travels with electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, health sensors, and Google Glass. Each of these devices offers new levels of productivity and efficiency, but they also become the weak link in the security chain: if a device is lost or stolen during travel, the resulting data breach can put the business in danger of physical, financial, and reputational loss. " Online Security for the Business Traveler" provides an overview
of this often overlooked problem, explores cases highlighting
specific security issues, and offers practical advice on what to do
to ensure business security while traveling and engaging in online
activity. It is an essential reference guide for any travelling
business person or security professional.
This most archetypal of symbols can be found all around us: from the folds of coral and the internal structure of the Nautilus shell to the queue settings of Disneyland rides; in the monastic library of Melk in the novel and film "In the Name of the Rose" and Dorothy's yellow-brick road from "The Wizard of Oz," to the hero's journeys undertaken by Neo in the" Matrix," Luke Skywalker in "Star Wars," and Frodo in" The Lord of the Rings." This book is meant to bring the secrets and power of the "Laberinto" into your professional life. It is divided into three parts. Part I covers Chapters 1-3 and gives you a brief history of the "Laberinto," where it comes from, the myths associated with it and how they relate to business today. Part II consists of Chapter 4, which describes how to use the "laberintos" provided in this book and Chapter 5, which contains 16" laberintos" focusing on business topics (including marketing, human resource management, leadership, etc.) plus 1 bonus "laberinto "on business wisdom. Part III concludes the book with "Laberinto" templates and a reference listing. So if you are ready, let's begin. (from the Introduction)
"Teaching Cross-Cultural Values" came out of the need to give
students an interactive experience with the course materials, and
to be able to gently coax them to reevaluate their own values and
concepts on diverse cultures in a relatively
safe--comfortable--atmosphere. To do that I had to put the focus on
them and lead them through the steps by helping them develop
critical thinking skills--skills that once developed and embedded
as a thinking tool would continue to help students meet the
challenge of questioning what they see and experience, and then
analyze their own thinking processes to understand those different
from them for long after they leave the classroom. The critical
reasoning skills explored in this collection of interactive
activities are: 1.Analytical Thinking & Critical Analysis
