This British drama is the hilarious and heart-warming story of an American widow who finds unexpected love with a man living off-grid on Hampstead Heath when they take on the land developers who want to destroy his home.
Slightly scandalous. Totally fabulous. The highly anticipated sequel follows our four best friends as they take their book club to Italy for the fun girls trip they never had. When things go off the rails and secrets are revealed, their relaxing vacation turns into a once-in-a-lifetime cross-country adventure.
Pixar animated adventure sequel featuring the voice talents of Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks. Six months after the events of 'Finding Nemo' (2003) the forgetful Pacific regal blue tang fish Dory (DeGeneres) unexpectedly remembers something about her childhood which leads her on a journey to find her family, accompanied by clownfish Marlin (Brooks) and his son Nemo (Hayden Rolence). The film also features the voices of Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Ty Burrell and Willem Dafoe.
Collection of two comedies. In 'No Strings Attached' (2011), when long-time friends Emma (Natalie Portman) and Adam (Ashton Kutcher) decide to add a physical dimension to their relationship and move into 'friends with benefits' territory, they agree to keep things strictly casual and on a 'no strings' basis. But before long both of them find things becoming more complicated than planned as those pesky emotions get in the way. In 'Morning Glory' (2010), a sparky, ambitious young television producer spies an opportunity to claw her way up the career ladder when she is offered a job on 'Daybreak', the worst-performing morning chat show in the ratings. Her decision to hire veteran newscaster Mike Pomeroy (Harrison Ford) to host the show meets with scepticism from network executive Jerry (Jeff Goldblum) and co-host Colleen Peck (Diane Keaton), and with little enthusiasm from Pomeroy himself, who is obliged by his contract to take this less-than-promising gig. Can Becky overcome the poor ratings and in-fighting to bring the team together and transform the show into something to be proud of?
A feel-good, smash-hit comedy about the outrageous trials and tribulations a well-meaning father goes through trying to prepare for his only daughter's wedding. The prenuptial pandemonium begins when the bride-to-be announces her engagement, setting off an outrageous chain of events, including a chaotic first meeting with the in-laws and and a wedding day snowstorm. Starring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton, this remake of the 1950 comedy classic is a warm, wacky look at a daughter's dream-come-true... and a father's proudest moment!
A visual autobiography of a kind as only Diane Keaton could tell it, via the celebrated star s idiosyncratic and personal collections and ruminative texts, Savedoffers an unprecedented glimpse into the mind of the legendary film star. The book begins with an homage to movies curiously, to old b grade horror flicks, such as Attack of the Puppet People a passion that manifests in a collection of rare film stills showing large-brain aliens with crablike hands and terrified men with eyes growing from their shoulders. In a second chapter or collection, the reader encoun-ters Cracked, a startling selection of crinkled and neglected negatives: found portraits that speak of the past through the broken lens of time. Even more intimately revealing are photographs taken by the star herself, be they of pigeons while on downtime from the set of Reds in London or of the greeters of Hollywood Boulevard, caught at the other end of her Rolleiflex camera lens, now revealed as the seen, the experienced, the remembered, the cherished. But this is only the beginning, the surface of a very deep dive into the wellsprings of one of the great creative talents at work today. The book is an invitation to dive in.
An intimate memoir by one of America's most acclaimed and beloved actresses. From the woman know to millions as Annie Hall, Then Again is the fascinating story of an actress's rise to fame, of her relationships with brilliant talents such as Woody Allen and Al Pacino, and her struggle with bulimia. But it is also an account of her family, a lively group of siblings growing up on the West coast in the 1960s, and above all of her mother, Dorothy Hall - a woman restless with intellectual and creative energy, struggling to find an output for her talents. A brilliant insight into the life of a legendary actress, Then Again is also an unforgettable memoir of family, dreams, and the bonds that tie us to those we love the most.
Elegant rusticity meets unpretentious luxury in the work of this award-winning architecture firm. Howard Backen, principal of the architecture firm Backen, Gillam & Kroeger, is at the center of a popular movement in home design that emphasizes elegant simplicity and embraces the rustic charm of natural materials. This volume, the first on his work and that of the firm, is an artful exploration of this aesthetic, featuring farmhouses in the Napa Valley, hilltop homes, seaside retreats, and lakeside hideaways. Throughout the work, a sense of intimacy, warmth, and informality pervades. Natural materials, such as wood, stone, and brick, form the foundations, walls, and ceilings of these subtly luxurious spaces, while nature itself plays a considered role that is at once complementary and also intricately conjoined with the work. Sensitive, alluring, and wonderfully resonant with the suggestion of invitation, the work of Backen, Gillam & Kroeger is both thrilling to the eye and restorative to the soul.
