Giving birth to a child is one of the greatest gifts a family can
have, "the gift of life." A Miracle Named David is a book filled
with tears and laughter, as this compassionate grandmother shares
her heart and testimony concerning her special grandchildren. She
shares the births, health problems and triumphs. This book
celebrates the way her faith helped her to deal with the health
challenges that beset the newborns. She informs the readers of the
ins and outs of neonatal intensive care, better known as NICU. A
Miracle Named David is a heart-warming true story of the
unanticipated journey during the mother's pregnancy and premature
delivery of her newborn. During the pregnancy she was given the
odds that her baby had a one percent chance of survival and
everything looked hopeless in the beginning, but the story did not
end there. Dorothy also shares how NICU would be revisited in the
next few years by three other grandbabies. Anyone reading this book
will release doubt and know that miracles really do happen. The
experience gives us a fresh awareness of God's presence and his
healing power. It was through unity in prayer by family, friends
and strangers that changed the circumstances in the lives of all
four newborns. Miracles do happen and this book is truly the story
of "A Miracle Named David."
Epitome of a Woman is written to encourage the reader through
LIFE's journey here on earth. God wants us to have balance and be
whole in every area of our lives. The day-to-day tests and trials
we go through happen to good people as well as bad. I believe each
and every one of us were put here for a purpose, and whether we
fulfill that purpose is left up to us. The key is finding that
purpose and direction for your life. Tough times never last, but
tough people do. In this book I share testimonies of overcoming
tough women who endured; a couple have already ended their life's
journey and fulfilled their destiny here on earth, but they didn't
give up. They made it through, and you can, too. Whatever stage of
life you are in - single, married, divorced or widowed - you have
to find happiness and peace within yourself. Follow the dreams and
the desires deep within you. Don't let anything or anyone stop you
from achieving your destiny in life. Remember, "a quitter never
wins, and a winner never quits."
Workplace Survival is a true story of a "reckless" renovation. In
2005, I was diagnosed with "Chronic Obstruction Pulmonary Disease."
I never had asthma, nor allergies and I never smoked, but I went to
work healthy and ended up sick with lung disease. In a 1999 air
quality report, it said that the internal appearance of the
air-handling units appeared to be "in generally poor condition with
many items requiring attention." But three years passed before any
renovation work was done. After fourteen-and one-half years of
employment with this government, I ended my career overnight due to
"recklessness." It all started with the installation of a heating,
ventilation and air conditioning unit (HVAC) in a 1960s vintage
anemic building. Many dangerous toxins were known to be in the
building-lead, aluminum, chromium, asbestos, mold, dust, fiber,
fungus and God only knows what else. The recklessness caused the
dangerous poisons to come through the overhead vents in my office
and into my airways and lungs that were injured. It was my faith in
God that saw me through this horrific storm. I learned the place
where I thought was my greatest downfall and defeat turned out to
be the place of a new beginning with God.
