Attempting to return to UNIT HQ, the Doctor (Tom Baker) and Sarah land in England in 1911, where an ancient force is preparing to return and wreak destruction on the Universe. Sutekh the Destroyer, last of the Osirans, is planning to free himself from his prison on Mars. His robot Mummies are building a rocket to destroy the device which holds him prisoner and If he isn't stopped, there is not a force in the Universe which can stand against him.

All six episodes, including two that are animated due to their being missing from the BBC archives, of the second Doctor's classic 1967 adventure. In 'The Ice Warriors', the Doctor (Patrick Troughton), Jamie (Frazer Hines) and Victoria (Deborah Watling) arrive on Earth in the year 3000 AD - in the middle of the second Ice Age. At the Brittanicus Base, a team of scientists struggle to control the elements with a machine known as the Ioniser. When a body is found perfectly preserved in the ice barrier which surrounds the base, it is thawed out. The creature proves to be an Ice Warrior - one of an agressive reptilian race from Mars, intent on awakening its fellows and conquering the Earth.

Another adventure for the intrepid time traveller. The Doctor (Tom Baker) and Romana (Lalla Ward) are holidaying in Paris when they stumble across the mysterious Count Scarlioni (Julian Glover) to steal the Mona Lisa. With the aid of inept detective Duggan (Tom Chadbon) they discover that the Count already has several Mona Lisas walled up in his cellar - all of them painted by Leonardo Da Vinci - and when the Doctor finds out that Scarlioni is also conducting time experiments he begins to realize that his latest foe is not all that he seems... Due in part to an independent television strike, this story achieved the series' highest ever viewing figures, with the final episode peaking at 16.1 million.

The Doctor (Patrick Troughton), Jamie and Zoe are captured and witness a series of war games staged by aliens on a mysterious planet, with warriors from history pitted against each other. They discover this to be a plot by the War Lords, who are being aided and abetted by the War Chief, a member of the Doctor's own race. In desperation the Doctor summons his people, the Time Lords, for help. This was Patrick Troughton's last regular appearance as the Doctor, and is the first story to feature the Time Lords.

Another adventure for everyone's favourite Time Lord. A may-day call to the Doctor (Tom Baker) and Sarah takes them to the outermost horizons of the Universe where they find a Morestran military expedition stranded on a remote planet. The Doctor has to battle an anti-matter monster, the unstable Morestran Commander Salamar, and scientist Professor Sorenson, who is transforming into a deadly Anti-man.

The Doctor (Jon Pertwee) and Jo (Katy Manning) travel to Stangmoor prison to investigate a machine which can remove evil from the minds of criminals. However, the man behind the scheme - Professor Kellerman - is in fact the Doctor's arch-nemesis, the Master (Roger Delgado), and is planning to disrupt a United Nations peace conference. Inside the Master's machine is an alien parasite which can make people see their greatest fears, and is growing stronger all the time. Can the Doctor stop both the Master and the unearthly parasite?

The Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) faces terrifying plastic Autons and the evil Master in these two classic Doctor Who adventures. The Doctor discovers that the meteor shower was in fact the first wave of an invasion by hostile alien intelligence the Nestene; phase two begins when the Autons - deadly plastic mannequins created by the Nestene agents on Earth - launch an attack on the unsuspecting public. In 'Terror of the Autons' (1970), the Doctor must pit his wits against the Nestene invaders, now teamed with renegade Time Lord the Master. This episode marks the first appearance of Jo Grant (Katy Manning), Captain Mike Yates (Richard Franklin) and The Master (Roger Delgado).

To save the Universe, the Doctor must travel to the planet Metebelis Three, where he discovers an invasion plan of Earth by the Metebelis Spiders, under the leadership of the Great One. To save the planet the Doctor must absorb a lethal dose of radiation, triggering his third regeneration...

Sarah investigates the mysterious Think Tank, where it becomes clear that robot K-1 is being misused by its political extremist masters and the Doctor has to prevent the robot from being used to start an atomic war. A collection of six BBC dramatisations of Jane Austen classics. Adapted by Andrew Davies after his success with his work on George Elliot's 'Middlemarch' for television, 'Pride and Prejudice' was the BBC's flagship drama in the schedule for autumn 1995. The story revolves around the arrival of the wealthy Mr Darcy (Colin Firth) and party and the excitement he causes amongst the five daughters of the Bennett family. In 'Persuasion' (1995), Anne Elliott (Amanda Root) has spent years regretting her rejection of Captain Wentworth's (Ciaran Hinds) proposal of marriage. When he returns from sea they meet, but instead of finding romance are kept apart through a series of misunderstandings. Anne is being pursued by her cousin, Mr Elliott (Samuel West), while Captain Wentworth is now regarded as a very eligible bachelor. 'Northanger Abbey' (1986) stars Peter Firth and Robert Hardy. The story follows the adventures of Catherine Moorland (Katharine Schlesinger), who is invited by the romantic Henry Tilney to stay at the Abbey - and finds it to be shrouded in mystery and intrigue. In 'Sense and Sensibility' (1980), sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood (Irene Richard and Tracey Childs) lose their family fortune to spiteful relatives, and are forced to seek out suitable husbands in order to survive. While Marianne falls for the heartless John Willoughby (Peter Woodward), Elinor finds herself attracted to Edward Ferrars (Bosco Hogan) - who is himself betrothed to Lucy Steele (Julia Chambers). In 'Mansfield Park' (1983), Fanny Price (Sylvestra Le Touzel) struggles to adjust to her new aristrocratic lifestyle when she is sent by her debt-ridden mother to live with her rich aunt and cousins. Her 'superior' relatives constantly ignore her, and only her cousin Edmund (Nicholas Farrell) shows Fanny any interest. However, Fanny's charm and wit eventually win her many potential suitors, and before long she has to decide whether she wishes to wed for love or for status. Doran Godwin stars in 'Emma' (1972), which tells the stroy of the eponymous heroine whose chief joy in life is organising the lives of the friends with whom she surrounds herself. She is soon the apple of Mr Knightly (John Carson)'s eye, an older family friend who has watched her grow and advised her on many things in life.

Another adventure for everyone's favourite Time Lord. UNIT is called to a sleepy mining town in South Wales to investigate the mysterious death of a miner in an inactive pit. The Wholeweal environmental community believe that a local chemical company has something to do with the death, and when the Doctor heads a mission down the mines he discovers thousands of maggots surrounded by poisonous slime. Further investigation at the chemical works reveals the owner to be under the malign influence of a sentient computer, BOSS.

Another adventure for everyone's favourite Time Lord. The arrival on Earth of a UFO brings with it the Axons - golden-skinned aliens who offer the gift of Axonite to mankind. The Doctor (Jon Pertwee) is suspicious, especially when he discovers that his old enemy the Master (Roger Delgado) is on board the Axon craft.

Double bill of classic 'Doctor Who' television serials. 'Invasion of the Dinosaurs' (1975) is the last storyline to feature Jon Pertwee as the Doctor. When a group of scientists who want to return the Earth to a time before technology use dinosaurs to try and force people to flee the cities, the Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen) set out to stop them. In 'The Android Invasion' (1975) the Doctor (now played by Tom Baker) and Sarah Jane believe that they are back on Earth when the TARDIS lands near what seems to be a peaceful English village. But why is the local pub deserted? And who are the spacesuit-wearing figures with guns for fingers? The intrepid pair set out to discover the truth.

The Master (Roger Delgado) has stolen some top secret information giving details of one of the most destructive weapons in the known universe, and it is up to the Doctor (Jon Pertwee) to get that information back. The Doctor's quest takes him to the planet Uxarieus, where he becomes caught up in a dispute between the human settlers and the Interplanetary Mining Corporation. Meanwhile, the Master remains at large, and with murderous robots and rampant lizards to contend with, the Doctor's search for the all-important doomsday machine become evermore difficult.

Jon Pertwee stars as the time travelling Doctor, who once more finds the planet under threat. Trying to avert a war which will bring Earth under the domination of the Daleks and their ferocious slaves (the Ogrons), the Doctor fights one of the biggest challenges he has faced so far.

The Doctor (Jon Pertwee) investigates, and soon finds himself up against his nemesis, The Master, in a battle to control a powerful sacred crystal. In the four-parter 'Underworld', the TARDIS lands the Doctor (Tom Baker) in a Minyan spaceship that is on a quest to find the Minyan race banks stored in a missing ship known as the P7E. They eventually find what they are looking for in a cave system at the centre of a newly-formed planet. But the P7E's computer has ideas of its own, and doesn't look kindly upon its new visitors.

All four classic Doctor Who stories featuring the alien species, the Sontarans, who first appeared in the 1973 story, 'The Time Warrior'. The Sontarans are a self -cloning race who live in a militaristic society in the 'southern spiral arm of the galaxy'. Humanoid in appearance, with a squat build and distinctive dome-shaped heads, they are far stronger than mere humans and possess an unquenchable thirst for war. The other stories in this set are 'The Invasion of Time' (1977), 'The Two Doctors' (1984) and 'The Sontaran Experiment' (1975).

A double helping from the 'Doctor Who' archives. Never aired on television due to a strike in 1979, the uncompleted six-part adventure 'Shada' traces the chase to recover a powerful book, 'The Artifacts of Gallifrey', stolen from retired timelord Professor Chronotis (Denis Carey). Skagra (Christopher Neame) is the evil despot responsible for this foul jiggery-pokery. Original footage from this episode was used as the Fourth Doctor's involvement in 'The Five Doctors', before it was reassembled, with an older and portlier Tom Baker narrating the missing gaps. Also included is the BBC-produced documentary 'More Than Thirty Years in the Tardis', a compilation of clips spanning the first thirty years of the Doctor, including some previously unseen footage, plus interviews with the many stars, writers, producers and designers.

However, an insectoid alien life form known as the Wirrn has infiltrated the Ark and cut through the humans' alarm clock. Two classic Doctor Who adventures set on the planet of Peladon, starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, with Katy Manning as his companion in the first story and Elisabeth Sladen in the second. In the four-parter 'The Curse of Peladon' (1972), the Doctor (Pertwee) finally seems to have escaped his exile to Earth when he manages to transport Jo (Manning) in the Tardis to the planet Peladon. The pair are mistaken for Earth delegates at a conference to decide whether Peladon should join the Galactic Federation, and discover that someone is attempting to use the legendary royal beast of Aggador to trigger off a war. In the six-parter 'The Monster of Peladon' (1974), the Tardis arrives on the Planet of Peladon half a century after the Doctor's first visit. The planet has now become of great tactical importance because of its focal position between warring factions. The Doctor and Sarah (Elisabeth Sladen) have to act as peacekeepers between rival ambassadors and they must also find the truth behind 'the spirit'.

Another adventure for the intrepid space/time traveller. The Doctor (Tom Baker) has returned the TARDIS to his home planet of Gallifrey, but why has he forbidden Leela (Louise Jameson) to accompany him? Why, upon claiming the Presidency, does he expel every senior Time Lord to the outer wastes? And what plan is he hatching with the hostile Vardans? The only people he seems to have taken into his confidence are K9 and Chancellor Borusa, but whatever game the Doctor is playing, he has reckoned without the return of an old foe... This story marks the departure from the series of Leela and K9 Mark 1.

The TARDIS materialises in an English quarry where Sarah is involved in a rock fall. When she is rescued, she is clutching a stone hand, which takes control of her and forces her to take it into the core of a nuclear reactor. The Doctor (Tom Baker) arrives too late to stop the hand from regenerating into an alien lifeform known as Eldrad, who demands to be returned to her home planet of Kastria. The Doctor obliges, but all is not as it seems with Eldrad. This was Sarh Jane Smith's last adventure with the Doctor, although she later returned in 'K-9 and Company', 'The Five Doctors' and 'Downtime'.
