Since 1983, when the West German public elected several of their
party members to representative seats in the Bundestag, the Greens
(Die Grunen) have been a political force. "A Rhetoric of the
People" studies how the German Greens have evolved a rhetorical
style that is characteristic of a social movement, voicing citizen
dissatisfaction with representative democracy and the insensitive
decision making of traditional political and economic structures.
Authors Coleman and Coleman discuss the Greens as part of a
significant global environmental movement, and as a voice that
advocates a new politics based on the key notions of ecology, equal
rights, grassroots democracy, self-determination, Third World
concerns, and peace.
"A Rhetoric of the People" concentrates on the Greens'
rhetorical vision as presented in their public utterances and
political platforms. To furnish a context for appreciating the
Greens' persuasive efforts, the authors examine green argumentative
stances in general, then present a brief review of the global
environmental movement and a discussion of the evolution of the
German Green Party. What follows is essentially a descriptive study
that highlights the verbal discourse of the Greens as revealed in
their official party statements. The authors conclude by exploring
some of the issues and problems presently facing the Greens, and
contemplating the future of the party. Recommended for
sociologists, political scientists, environmentalists, and
communications scholars.
'Every believer in Jesus Christ deserves the opportunity of
personal nurture and development.' says LeRoy Eims. But all too
often the opportunity isn't there. We neglect the young Christian
in our whirl of programs, church services, and fellowship groups.
And we neglect to raise up workers and leaders who can disciple
young believers into mature and fruitful Christians. In simple,
practical, and biblical terms, LeRoy Eims revives the lost art of
disciple making. He explains: - How the early church discipled new
Christians - How to meet the basic needs of a growing Christian -
How to spot and train potential workers - How to develop mature,
godly leaders 'True growth takes time and tears and love and
patience, ' Eims states. There is no instant maturity. This book
examines the growth process in the life of a Christian and
considers what nurture and guidance it takes to develop spiritually
qualified workers in the church
It is not uncommon to find engineers in test labs or design groups
who have not had occasion to use the mathematical tools acquired in
college. When suddenly faced with vibration issues they find
themselves ill equipped to get a solid grasp of the vibration
process. It is the intent of this technical reference to provide
access to vibration theory, initially at a very elementary level,
then progressing from basic analytical formulations toward the more
mature mathematical representations associated with eigenvectors
and the Fourier Transform. Mode shapes are introduced without any
reference to the eigenvalue problem, but connected immediately to
simple coordinate transformations in two and three dimensions. This
allows a rather simple picture of operators, ultimately leading to
a straight forward derivation of the Frequency Response Function
(FRF) formula. It is hoped that many engineers will find their way
back into a more analytical approach to vibration problems.
providing fresh viewpoints from time to time, such as the
development of modal force as a contravariant vector, providing a
detailed view of the FRF as a superposition of modal FRFs.

What are the spiritual dynamics of leadership? How can you be more
a person of God, aflame for God, anointed and empowered by God --
truly a Spirit-filled leader? Here are answers that you will read
again and again.
When the first disciples went out into all the world to spread the
gospel, they didn't just make converts--they made more disciples,
people who would grow in the faith and then go out to make
disciples as well. Their world was a lot like ours, filled with
skeptics, idolatry, and opposition, but also with hurting people
whom God had already prepared to hear, learn, and be transformed.
In the pattern of his bestselling book The Master Plan of
Evangelism, author Robert E. Coleman offers a close examination of
how Jesus made disciples and how his followers did the same
throughout the book of Acts. Coleman then shows how to apply these
methods to the modern church, which creates actual sustained church
growth rather than simply a temporary boost in numbers. Pastors,
church leaders, and those involved in teaching and discipling
believers will find this book to be an invaluable resource to equip
the saints, build fellowship, and grow their ministry.
For more than forty years this classic study has shown Christians
how to minister to the people God brings into their lives. Instead
of drawing on the latest popular fad or the newest selling
technique, Dr. Robert E. Coleman looks to the Bible to find the
answer to the question: What was Christ's strategy for evangelism?
This convenient, portable format has an updated look for a new
generation of readers.
"Few books have had as great an impact on the cause of world
evangelization in our generation as Robert Coleman's The Master
Plan of Evangelism."--Billy Graham It all started when Jesus called
a few men to follow him and share God's message with their
neighbors. We are called to do the same. But evangelism can be
difficult--even intimidating. With all the evangelism resources
available, where should you turn to find advice on how to share the
Good News with others? Robert E. Coleman says the answers aren't
found in TV evangelism, easy-evangelism guidebooks, or the latest
marketing techniques. Rather, he looks to the Bible, to the
ultimate example found in Jesus Christ. For more than forty years
this classic, biblical look at evangelism has challenged and
instructed over three million readers. Now repackaged for a new
generation, The Master Plan of Evangelism is as fresh and relevant
as ever. Join the movement and discover how you can minister to the
people God brings into your life.
When the site of Elean Pylos was threatened by the construction of
a dam in 1968, a team from the University of Colorado moved in to
salvage as much information as possible about the ancient town
before it was submerged. This report is divided chronologically:
Middle Helladic, Geometric, Archaic, Classical, Roman, Byzantine,
and Frankish. Each chapter consists of a brief description of the
remains in the field, followed by a catalogue of the finds. While
earlier finds are mainly of wells, the Classical settlement was the
size of a large village providing everyday finds of bronze, lead,
iron, and pottery. Some fragments of terracotta figurines and amber
suggest a certain amount of wealth, but the primary character of
the whole site is agricultural. Roman and Frankish remains are
primarily funerary.
"This is an outstanding book, written by an outstanding and
courageous physician who is a physician in the best sense of the
word - who cares not only for the body but also for the deeper mind
and soul. Dr. Coleman's stories of clinical care are perfect
examples of the highest ideals of medicine, and should be read not
only by those who wish to understand the deeper roots of their
symptoms but also by those who want to better care for their
patients. With both clarity and an ear for story-telling, Dr.
Coleman illustrates how presenting symptoms are both a mask and a
set of clues to the real stressors and urges to growth that lie
beneath the surface, and with consummate skill she traces these
clues to their source in order to treat causes rather than
symptoms." -Jeffrey D. Rediger, MD, MDiv Harvard Medical School

Wouldn't it be great if you could just push a button on your
computer and have a list of all you memories pop up. This ingenious
book of lists, which is in essence a catalogue of all your
memories, does just that. It's not a diary. it's not a journal. You
don't write sentences or paragraphs. You simply make a list. And
when you are finished, "the book is truly you." It's your life in
lists. It consists of your hopes, dreams, fantasies, best and worst
times and funniest moments. It is everything you have wondered,
like to remember, need to face, fear, desire, wish, and hope for.
We are all a conglomeration of our hopes and dreams, wishes and
ears, accomplishments and failures - an amalgam of all the
different: 1) experiences we've had, 2) ideas we thought, 3)
feelings we felt, and 4) our physical bodies. Outside of one's
family and friends, the greatest things in a person's life are his
memories. It's sad that people don't take time to enjoy our
memories more often and learn from them and appreciate what we
have.

This book is about changing a community from the inside out. How do
you change an Urban community? "Rejuvenation" "When rejuvenation
takes place, we are a new creation, brand new, new hands, new feet,
new look new life, new ways of seeing, new ways of being, new ways
of living, and new ways of being in relationship together. Thank
God. I once was in exile, a stranger on earth, a sinner by choice,
an alien by birth. But I have been rescued. My address has changed.
I'm an heir to new dwellings, to a robe and a crown of life, for
life, in life, life unto life. And I must share the gifts of God
with my people. Thanks be to God." A Blueprint for Urban Renewal
Community Renewal can only be achieved through the I-R.I.S.E
approach adopted and developed by W.E.C. Resource Group and tested
with the Cooperation and buy-in of a committed community group.
This is community building and capacity building modality

Integrated Resources to instill self-Sufficiency and Empowerment.
First all that is done must be spiritually driven and grounded in

Originally published in the 1940s, this important book on the
Shetland Sheepdog has been republished by VINTAGE DOG BOOKS as part
of their CLASSIC BREED BOOKS series. The book is essentially a hand
picked compilation of information on all aspects of the Sheltie
which have been written by all those contributors to the canine
press who have ever given anything of value to the breed. It is a
monument to them of all the facts they have so carefully recorded
for the benefit of the Shetland Sheepdog and his owner. One hundred
and sixty eight pages contain fourteen Comprehensive Chapters: The
Home and Origin of the Shetland Sheepdog. The History of the Breed
Including its Clubs. The Mental Traits and Work of the Breed.
Physical Characteristics and Standard Interpretation. A Summary of
the Crises Situation. The Theory of Breeding to Type. Breeding
Shetland Sheepdogs to Type. Shetland Sheepdog Strains in Great
Britain. In America. Pedigrees. Shetland Sheepdog Male Lines and
Female Families. Show Management. Kennel Management. Diseases and
Medical Care. Dog Breeding as a Profession. The contents are well
illustrated with vintage photographs of famous Shetland Sheepdogs.
This is a fascinating read for any Sheltie enthusiast or historian
of the breed, but also contains much information that is still
useful and practical today. Many of the earliest dog breed books,
particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now
extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. VINTAGE DOG BOOKS are
republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality,
modern editions, using the original text and artwork. Keywords:
