Zur Lasung dieser Aufgabe sind A.rzte, Hilfskrafte und Laienhelfer natig, daruber hinaus jedoch auch die Bereitstel lung aller materiellen Hilfsmittel, die Rettungsorganisationen und staatliche Einrichtungen einschlieBlich Krankenhauser an bieten kannen. Rettungs- und Notfallmedizin allein kannen keinesfalls katastrophenmedizinische Probleme lasen. Aus medizinischer Sicht sind Art, Zeitpunkt und AusmaB einer Katastrophe unbekannte GraBen. Es kann sich z. B. urn ein Eisenbahnungluck, eine Uberschwemmungskatastrophe, ein Erdbeben oder auch urn einen nuklearen Unfall handeln.
