This book contains selected papers from the "Fourth
International Conference on Computational Methods in Marine
Engineering, " held at Instituto Superior Tecnico, Technical
University of Lisbon, Portugal in September 2011.
Nowadays, computational methods are an essential tool of
engineering, which includes a major field of interest in marine
applications, such as the maritime and offshore industries and
engineering challenges related to the marine environment and
renewable energies. The 2011 Conference included 8 invited plenary
lectures and 86 presentations distributed through 10 thematic
sessions that covered many of the most relevant topics of marine
engineering today. This book contains 16 selected papers from the
Conference that cover CFD for Offshore Applications,
Fluid-Structure Interaction, Isogeometric Methods for Marine
Engineering, Marine/Offshore Renewable Energy, Maneuvering and
Seakeeping, Propulsion and Cavitation and Ship Hydrodynamics . The
papers were selected with the help of the recognized experts that
collaborated in the organization of the thematic sessions of the
Conference, which guarantees the high quality of the papers
included in this book.

This book is intended for a broad readership, in particular, those
working or interested in drug discovery coming from various
disciplines such as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, drug
metabolism and pharmacokinetics, bioanalysis, clinical sciences,
biochemistry, pharmaceutics, and toxicology. It provides, for the
first time, a completely integrated look at multiple aspects of
ADME sciences (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion)
in a summary format that is clear, concise, and self-explanatory.
DMPK in Drug Discovery - Guide to Data Interpretation and
integration leverages the prior knowledge from the first book that
covers the basics of each concept (Drug Metabolism and
Pharmacokinetics Quick Guide). This reference book is meant to be
used day to day and provides many useful tables (used for data
interpretation), figures, and case studies that can facilitate drug
discovery. The case studies are intended to be short and relevant
to the topic discussed and present another dimension to the
discussions.
Eca de Queiroz's sharply satirical work aimed to expose the
hypocrisies of his age. In The Mandarin his lascivious anti-heroes
Teodoro and Teodorico, are dragged from their narrow Lisbon lives
into exotic encounters with Chinese mandarins, the Devil (in the
guise of a dark-suited civil servant)and Jesus Christ Himself. This
short novel is accompanied by the short stories Jose Matias, The
Hanged Man and The Idiosyncrasies of a young blonde woman.

Although art is taught around the world, art education policies and
practices vary widely--and the opportunities for teachers to
exchange information are few. "International Dialogues about Visual
Culture, Education, and Art "brings together diverse perspectives
on teaching art to forge a comprehensive understanding of the
challenges facing art educators in every country. This
comprehensive, authoritative volume examines global views on
education policy, discusses new trends in critical pedagogy,
introduces new technologies available to educators, investigates
community art projects, and shows how art education can be used for
peace activism.
