There aren't enough good duet books for beginner trumpet players.
Twenty Trumpet Pioneer Duets takes twenty steps towards remedying
that problem. The Trumpet Pioneer student is a beginner trumpet
player that has a range up to tuning note C, can read in one flat
and one sharp, knows basic quarter-note rhythms and can play in
two-four, three-four and four-four time signatures. This book
includes twenty duets written to match these qualities.
Twenty Trumpet Tyro Duets is a sequel to our Twenty Trumpet Pioneer
Duets. The trumpet duets in this book cover a range up to fourth
space E and are written in up to three flats and three sharps.
There are twenty duets in this book, but some of the duets have as
many as three different versions. Counting all the different
versions, there are thirty-four duets in the book. The different
version of each duet help the students comprehend the theory behind
the music. They learn the music theory by playing it on their
instruments. These Trumpet Tyro duets make great trumpet lesson
assignments. They are not meant to be sight-read by Trumpet Tyro
level students. For sight-reading materials for students at the
Trumpet Tyro level, we recommend the Twenty Trumpet Pioneer Duets
book.
Tonalization Studies come from a system of scale exercises that
make it easier for students to learn the keys as opposed to just
learning finger patterns for scales. The scale exercises are setup
in a way that encourage the students to think in the keys, often to
the point that they can self-correct when they make mistakes. The
benefits of the Tonalization Studies include better sight reading,
transposition, improvisation, intonation, finger technique, tone,
and range. The Tyro Tonalization studies are specifically for
students with a range up to the fourth space E. We call these
students "Tyro" students and it is the second level of our seven
skill level system. This book has exercises in seven different
keys; C, F, G, D, B flat, E flat and A. Tonalization Studies are
range limited and work perfectly with Eddie Lewis' One Range
method. You can read more about building your range using similar
exercises in Eddie's book titled One Range, A Trumpet Chops
Strategy Guide.
Many trumpet players struggle with chop problems. It's demoralizing
when you know you are a great trumpet player, but your limitations
in endurance and range exclude you from crucial opportunities. The
question is, how do you develop range and endurance without putting
all your eggs in the high note basket? Most great trumpet players
with limited chops deplore the idea of practicing high note
methods! They want to be able to grow their range and endurance in
a way that will not sacrifice their current strengths. There are
dozens of practice routines available to the modern trumpet player
with new ones being added at a dizzying rate. Some of us already
know what works for our specific needs while others seem to be
swimming aimlessly through a sea of exercises and confusing
information. Amid so many options, the Trumpet Chops series stands
out as being not only physically but also musically beneficial.
Trumpet Chops Player is for trumpet players with a range up to the
G above the staff.
One Range, from the pedal tones to the notes above the dreaded
double C. One Range is a strategy guide for trumpet players to help
them grow their strength in a way that maintains all of their
current abilities. One Range is not an exercise book. There are no
high note exercises on these pages. There are no exercises at all.
The book is 100% text. Instead of gaining a better range through
pounding your chops with high note drills, One Range helps you
build that range in a more natural manner. You can even use the
exercises you are already practicing with slight modifications.
Trumpet Chops Tyro is number two in the Trumpet Chops series. It is
a trumpet warm-up routine designed to be used by trumpet players
who are no longer beginners but haven't developed all of their
necessary skills yet. Trumpet Chops Tyro is for trumpet players who
have a range up to fourth space E. It includes exercises in seven
different keys. The complete Trumpet Chops series covers seven
range and skill levels. Trumpet Chops Pioneer is for beginners with
a range up to tuning C. Trumpet Chops Virtuoso is for expert
trumpeters with a range up to the G an octave above the staff. The
series is used systematically to encourage strength through daily
practice.
Go With the Flow for Trumpet by Eddie Lewis includes twenty-one
original flow study etudes tailored to be used with the Daily
Routines book. With three etudes for each of the seven levels of
the Daily Routine book, the Go With the Flow book begins with
simple quarter-note and half-note flow studies limited in range to
tuning note C. It progresses to advanced flow study etudes which
cover a full professional range. The etudes systematically cover
all twelve keys and a variety of time signatures. While the Go With
the Flow book was originally intended to be used as a supplement to
the more popular Daily Routines, it is also used by some trumpet
players as a more musical alternative to a physical trumpet
warm-up. Flow studies are a trumpet tradition rooted in the
teaching of cornetist Herbert L. Clarke who taught them as moving
long tones. They feature mostly step wise motion and are primarily
slurred. The purpose of practicing flow studies is to develop
greater control of the air-stream.
Band Scale Expansion Studies for Trumpet is designed to help school
trumpet students to master their band scales. Band directors often
have scale tests, sometimes for grades, sometimes for chair
placement in the band. Before you buy this book, please confirm
that the band scales for your band are the same as the ones
targeted by Band Scale Expansion Studies for Trumpet. Do your band
scales begin with quarter-notes, ascend one or two octaves in
eighth-notes, peak on a quarter-note in the top octave, then
descend in eighth notes to the first note? If those are your band
scales, then the Band Scale Expansion Studies for Trumpet will work
for you. Simply follow the directions in the book and you will be
mastering your scales in no time.
Turn writing and drawing into a creative adventure with a
children's journal crammed full of monster illustrations. There are
new monsters on every page. Page layouts include lined and unlined
areas. Layouts are tailored to the illustrations so expect
something different with each turn of the page. The line art
illustrations accommodate coloring, while stimulating the
imagination for drawing and writing. The convenient size of this
journal makes it perfect for fitting in a backpack, so kids can
write and doodle just about anywhere. If you are looking for a
predictable kids' journal where all the pages look the same, this
journal is not for you. The MONSTER JOURNAL is all about variety -
it deliberately creates an environment that exercises the
imagination and challenges the user to create a different style of
journal entry on each page.
The MONSTER MUSIC JOURNAL is a wild and whacky, monster-infested
space for you to fill with music compositions, transcriptions of
your favorite songs, music theory exercises, and other monstrous
bits 'n bobs. The generously spaced staff lines make writing
musical notes easy for beginners (or for those who like to live
life BIG). Plus, there is plenty of writing space for non-musical
notes, so you can include song lyrics, love letters, or even
scribble a doodle or two. The book is heavily illustrated with
monster characters that will tickle the imagination of kids and
adults. Created by the musician and illustrator husband-and-wife
team, Eddie and Pearl Lewis, this music journal has many uses. Let
it turn dull, repetitive music theory exercises into an adventure
at every turn of the page. Suggest the illustrations as prompts for
improvised music. Or use the journal to introduce young musicians
to composition and transcription. Music homework just got an
upgrade on the fun scale.

Trumpet players! Do you need to improve your range, endurance,
flexibility or sound? Daily Routines is a proven approach which has
helped thousands of trumpet players grow in strength without having
to resort to annoying high note methods. Daily Routines is NOT a
high note method. Yet, most of its users have greater range than
people who call themselves "screamers". The difference is that
Daily Routines does not work on range separately from other aspects
of trumpet playing. Range is a by-product of strength, and strength
comes from very specific daily practice habits. With the Daily
Routines book, you can play higher with greater endurance AND
produce a quality sound. The systematic design of the routines
makes the progress automatic. There is no need to stress over
physical mechanics. The book is designed so that playing the
exercises in the correct order automatically leads to proper
physical technique.
Note: this is the perfect bound version of Celebrations. Do you
enjoy playing trumpet duets? Playing duets with friends or your
private trumpet teacher is a fun way to learn how to play the
trumpet. The 101 original duets of Celebrations progress from
simple whole notes to expert, professional level duets with a
steady graduation of difficulty between the two. The unexpected
twists and turns make the book fun to work through, and the diverse
styles (including baroque, classical, salsa, jazz, guapango, and
African 12-8) keep it interesting. While the music is highly
entertaining and enjoyable to play, this 165-page book is about
more than just entertainment value. Each of the 101 duets is
composed around a particular skill. By the time a musician has
mastered a piece, he or she will also have acquired or honed a
valuable skill. The Celebrations duet book offers so much value for
money: rich entertainment subtly embedded with invaluable lessons
and challenges designed to promote musical growth.
Do you need the structure of a daily trumpet practice but lack the
time it takes to do a full traditional routine? Chops Express was
designed for Daily Routines users who find themselves short of time
and unable to commit to the full length routines. Just as the Daily
Routines book does, the Chops Express routines conform to the
Physical Trumpet Pyramid which outlines a very specific order of
rudiments. Practicing the Chops Express book gives you most of the
benefits of the Daily Routines book in a fraction of the time. The
Chops Express book is good for developing a good sound, building a
solid range, increasing endurance and expanding flexibility. The
routines include the following rudiments: Lip Buzz Mouthpiece Buzz
Long Tones Scales Lip Slurs Articulation Intervals Double/Triple
Tongue
COLOR the TRUMPET CAROLS is a celebration of the Christmas story.
In this adult-friendly coloring book by the husband-and-wife team,
Eddie and Pearl Lewis, the Christmas story is retold through a
series of hand-drawn illustrations, scriptures, and extracts from
Christmas carols. You are taken on a journey from the ancient
prophecy of the coming of Jesus Christ to the fulfillment of that
prophecy in the little town of Bethlehem. This book can be used as
a stand-alone coloring book, or as a coloring accompaniment to the
hauntingly beautiful "Unadorned Trumpet Carols" music album (sold
separately). Carols (included in the album) are referenced
throughout the book. If Christmas has become a stressful time for
you and your family, this book will help you slow down, relax, and
rediscover the love, joy, and peace that the Christmas carols
proclaim. Reclaim the Christmas spirit in a creative way this year.
THE CALLING, a compendium of over thirty original compositions for
unaccompanied trumpet, is a musical journey like no other.
Representing more than two decades of composition, these trumpet
solos are presented in chronological order. As a unified work, the
pieces in THE CALLING tell a story. It is a story of faith, of
friendship, and of sincere admiration. THE CALLING begins with
Lewis' first unaccompanied trumpet solo, We Shall See, composed in
the mid 90's. It ends with a series of inspiring teacher tributes.
Each of the solos in THE CALLING can be used as both a performance
piece and lesson study material. THE CALLING is not, however, an
etude book. It is an ambitious anthology of bold and captivating
original performance pieces for the unaccompanied trumpet.
The Threshing Floor takes a look at current events through the lens
of Bible prophecy. The Bible instructs us many times to watch and
be ready for the Lord's return. In this book I attempt to identify
the signs that we are to watch for, as well as the ways we are to
prepare ourselves for the Lord's return. In addition, I look at how
we are to act and react towards a government system that is
stripping Christian believers of their freedoms to worship and obey
God in sharing the gospel of Christ. I interpret prophecy primarily
through three methods. First, I look at past precedents for how
ancient prophecies have been fulfilled. The literal fulfillment of
prophecies pointing to Christ's first coming indicate there will be
a literal fulfillment of end time prophecies. In this book I link
Old Testament prophecies with New Testament prophecies in a logical
way so that they are relevant and understandable today. Secondly, I
interpret prophecy by looking at the big picture of history from
God's view point. The Bible reveals the witnesses of God from the
beginning of time to the establishment of His eternal kingdom. I
identify the different groups through history and the process which
God uses in choosing His servants. God follows a three step process
where He identifies His servants, prepares them to serve, and
finally commissions His servant to go out into the world. Through
this process, God always gives His servants promises with
conditions attached. In this book, I identify the promises and the
conditions of God along with when they will be fulfilled in God's
time frame. The third way that I interpret prophecy is by
understanding the main message behind the imagery in the writings
of the prophets. Future events depicted through imagery always
reveal the fulfillment of the past promises to the servants of God.
When we don't understand what the imagery of a passage of scripture
is revealing, we must search for the past promises in the word of
God. By using this three step process, we can understand what the
message of Bible prophecy is for us today as we near the
fulfillment of many of the promises of God. As God's servant
witnesses, I invite you to open your Bible and your mind as we
journey through the maze of Biblical prophecies and discover how
they relate to us in these turbulent times.
