Space debris and asteroid impacts pose a very real, very near-term
threat to Earth. In order to help study and mitigate these risks,
the Stardust program was formed in 2013. This training and research
network was devoted to developing and mastering techniques such as
removal, deflection, exploitation, and tracking. This book is a
collection of many of the topics addressed at the Final Stardust
Conference, describing the latest in asteroid monitoring and how
engineering efforts can help us reduce space debris. It is a
selection of studies bringing together specialists from
universities, research institutions, and industry, tasked with the
mission of pushing the boundaries of space research with innovative
ideas and visionary concepts. Topics covered by the Symposium:
Orbital and Attitude Dynamics Modeling Long Term Orbit and Attitude
Evolution Particle Cloud Modeling and Simulation Collision and
Impact Modelling and Simulation, Re-entry Modeling and Simulation
Asteroid Origins and Characterization Orbit and Attitude
Determination Impact Prediction and Risk Analysis, Mission
Analysis-Proximity Operations, Active Removal/Deflection Control
Under Uncertainty, Active Removal/Deflection Technologies, and
Asteroid Manipulation
This volume presents up-to-date material on the state of the art in
evolutionary and deterministic methods for design, optimization and
control with applications to industrial and societal problems from
Europe, Asia, and America. EUROGEN 2015 was the 11th of a series of
International Conferences devoted to bringing together specialists
from universities, research institutions and industries developing
or applying evolutionary and deterministic methods in design
optimization, with emphasis on solving industrial and societal
problems. The conference was organised around a number of parallel
symposia, regular sessions, and keynote lectures focused on
surrogate-based optimization in aerodynamic design, adjoint methods
for steady & unsteady optimization, multi-disciplinary design
optimization, holistic optimization in marine design, game
strategies combined with evolutionary computation, optimization
under uncertainty, topology optimization, optimal planning, shape
optimization, and production scheduling.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th
International Conference on Bioinspired Optimization Methods and
Their Applications, BIOMA 2020, held in Brussels, Belgium, in
November 2020. The 24 full papers presented in this book were
carefully reviewed and selected from 68 submissions. The papers in
this BIOMA proceedings specialized in bioinspired algorithms as a
means for solving the optimization problems and came in two
categories: theoretical studies and methodology advancements on the
one hand, and algorithm adjustments and their applications on the
other. Due to the Corona pandemic BIOMA 2020 was held as a virtual
event.
