Meet the three (ahem-four!) little pigs as they convince the
narrator to tell a slightly different version of their fairy tale:
First, there's Alan, the one pig in the bunch who is actually a
builder. He's got a BIG problem with building a home out of flimsy
straw. Next, there's Alfred, who wants to be an actor and wouldn't
dream of getting his hands dirty. Then we have Alvin, whose dream
is to be...a pumpkin. Last but not least is Alison, the fourth pig,
who is ready to bring some flair to this story-if only she can get
the narrator to agree to a few changes...And what about that wolf?
Grab your jetpacks and get ready for this rollicking retelling of
the popular tale.
Hansel and Gretel will not listen to their storyteller. For one
thing, who leaves a trail of bread crumbs lying around, when there
are people starving? Not Hansel, that's for sure! And that sweet
old lady who lives in a house made of cookies and candy? There's no
way she's an evil witch! As for Gretel, well, she's about to set
the record straight-after all, who says the story can't be called
Gretel and Hansel? It's time for these wacky siblings to take their
fairy tale into their own hands. So sit back and enjoy the
gingerbread! With laugh-out-loud dialogue and bold, playful art
(including hidden search-and-find fairy-tale creatures), this
Hansel and Gretel retelling will have kids giggling right up to the
delicious ending!
In this adorable reimagining of the beloved classic, Wee Bear is on
the hunt for something new to read. As he sets off through the
woods, he stumbles upon Goldibooks's house. While she and her
parents are out for a walk, Wee Bear makes himself at home. But
Mama's books are too hard (hardcovers) and Papa's are too soft
(paperbacks). Thankfully, Goldibooks's book collection is juuuust
right! With a pile of books in-hand, Wee Bear sits down to read.
But Mama's chair is too hard, and Papa's chair is too soft.
Thankfully, Goldibook's chair is juuuuust right! Exhausted from
reading so many books, Wee Bear tucks himself into bed. But Mama's
bed is too hard, and Papa's bed is too soft. Thankfully,
Goldibooks's bed is juuuust right! And that's where Goldibooks and
her parents find him when they return home from their walk. As the
story unfolds from there, readers are reminded that the best books
are those we share with friends.
Little Red likes to play by the rules. So when the narrator comes
along and asks her to follow the story set out in her fairy tale,
she grabs the basket for Grandma and goes. After all, she loves her
grandma. But unfortunately, none of the other characters are quite
what they’re expecting.… As Little Red attempts to follow the
narrator’s directions (which, frankly, seem kind of dangerous!),
she is beset by fill-in characters, confusing instructions, and
even a fierce battle! Will Little Red ever make it to Grandma’s
house? And who will she find when she gets there? Complete with
some unusual “guest appearances,” this laugh-out-loud Little
Red Riding Hood retelling will have kids giggling all the way to
Grandma’s house! Ding-dong!
