A history-based novel that extends nearly 160 years, 1850-2003.

a changing country. Written in present tense form, we are
immediatly part of the story of first Maude Roberts then her
descendant, Luke Copley. You live with Maude as she explores her
personal relationship with manifest destiny, standing with her
through life-changing decisions and the secrets she carries with
her. Luke's story is picked up in 2003 where his life is as much
like Maude's was as it is different. Most of all, this is a novel
about overcoming hardships, accepting love and how they take hold
and eventually control the destiny of the generations of one
courageous and often resolute family.
