Remy Bennett and Émilie Richard-Froozan co-write and co-direct this
US drama. After the death of their friend Flora, childhood couple
Patrick (Evan Louison) and Pernilla (Bennett) reunite after years
of separation. Despite being engaged, Pernilla reignites her
obsession with Patrick with whom she shares a mutual longing. The
pair pick up where they left off in their adolescence and continue
to play cruel and jealous games with each other.
After a former minister dies suddenly upon his return to Emerald
Springs, his memorial service is cut just as short. Aggie
Sloan-Wilcox, wide of the current minister, knows why. The poor old
guy was murdered. But who in this bucolic village could be capable
of such a crime?
All 26 episodes from the TV drama series portraying the daily life
of Channel islanders under German occupation during WWII. As the
only British territory to be occupied by the Nazi regime during
WWII, the Channel Islands represented a glimpse of what life in
Britain could have been like if Germany had won the war. Blending
archive footage with contemporary film techniques, the series
achieved a gritty realism that went a long way to recreating the
fear and uncertainty endemic in the population at the time.
Episodes comprise: 'By Order of the Fuhrer', 'The Librarian',
'After the Ball', 'Steel Hand from the Sea', 'The Laws and Usages
of War', 'V for Victory', 'The Polish Affaire', 'Officers of the
Law', 'The Jerry Bag', 'Treason', 'Pains and Penalties', 'The
Prussian Officer', 'Judgement of Solomon', 'Call of the Dead',
'Reception for the General', 'Angels That Soar Above', 'No Quarter
Given', 'Committee Man', 'Post Mortem', 'The Raid', 'Jealousy',
'War Game', 'The Right Blood', 'From a View to a Death', 'The
Education of Nils Borg' and 'Escape'.
There's no rest for the weary Aggie Sloan-Wilcox and her minister
husband, who were praying for a relaxing weekend until a member of
their flock went missing.
Joe Wagner, president of Emerald Springs's food bank, disappears,
and Aggie discovers his secret life-as a female impersonator.
Meanwhile, the murder of the mayor's wife at the annual food bank
fundraiser puts Joe on top of the suspect list. If Aggie doesn't
get to the bottom of things fast, she'll be leading a choir singing
the blues.
With the chalk outline gone from their front porch, Aggie
Sloan-Wilcox and her minister husband think they can resume their
lives. But when Ginger, Aggie's despised former foster sister,
comes for Christmas, and turns up dead as a drumstick, Aggie's
sister is suspected. Now it's up to Aggie to find the real
murderer-who's decided there's a loophole in thou shalt not kill.
