PlantOmics: The Omics of Plant Science provides a comprehensive
account of the latest trends and developments of omics technologies
or approaches and their applications in plant science. Thirty
chapters written by 90 experts from 15 countries are included in
this state-of-the-art book. Each chapter describes one topic/omics
such as: omics in model plants, spectroscopy for plants, next
generation sequencing, functional genomics, cyto-metagenomics,
epigenomics, miRNAomics, proteomics, metabolomics, glycomics,
lipidomics, secretomics, phenomics, cytomics, physiomics,
signalomics, thiolomics, organelle omics, micro morphomics,
microbiomics, cryobionomics, nanotechnology, pharmacogenomics, and
computational systems biology for plants. It provides up to date
information, technologies, and their applications that can be
adopted and applied easily for deeper understanding plant biology
and therefore will be helpful in developing the strategy for
generating cost-effective superior plants for various purposes. In
the last chapter, the editors have proposed several new areas in
plant omics that may be explored in order to develop an integrated
meta-omics strategy to ensure the world and earth's health and
related issues. This book will be a valuable resource to students
and researchers in the field of cutting-edge plant omics.
Based on the findings of the four-year FIDDO (Focused Investigation
of Document Delivery Options) project, a study within the eLib
Programme in the UK. The FIDDO team worked with library managers
and end-users to develop an understanding of the issues involved
with the options, methods and management of document delivery and
provide recommendations. This title, as the name suggests also
brings together literature on document access. The findings of
"Planning Document Access: Options and Opportunities," present
objective and reliable data to inform the LIS community and aid
their decision making for document delivery services.
Peace and Prosperity in an Age of Incivility presents a
comprehensive theory about peace and prosperity. It asserts that
three core political values-liberty, order, and equality- must be
allocated by societies through law and policy. This book shows that
the optimal allocation is pure balance. Balance of values provides
the origin of the "democratic peace," the observation that
democracies rarely fight each other and when they do, it is brief,
does not escalate, and quickly results in a diplomatic resolution.
By building on simple forms of spatial and game theories, this
stunning analysis shows that the democratic peace is a "Nash
equilibrium," where no player has an incentive to deviate from the
solution, given the choices of other "players." Democracy, because
it fosters compromise, drives the political values of liberty,
order, and equality to intersect in perfect, or at least relative,
balance. Maximum peace and prosperity is the consequence of
balancing critical values. A nation's level of peace and
prosperity, while perhaps not great, will be no greater than when
these core values are in balance.
Facebook, television, phones, video games - all these get in the
way of real, meaningful relationships with our sons even beginning
when they are just five years old. Since we are competing with a
world of extremes when it comes to getting the attention of our
kids, even when you're together at home, meeting extreme with
extreme is the only answer. SEALS learn to function at a high level
outside of their normal, comfortable elements. Father and son need
to do the same. Whether it's climbing, hiking, biking, or
traveling, taking your son out of the house and away from
distractions of everyday life to face new challenges TOGETHER will
bring you two closer. Rediscover risk-taking and adventure -
nothing will bring you closer to your son. And that's just the
start. Through stories and lessons learned by Eric and many other
SEALS in fatherhood, readers will learn to connect with their sons
by discovering the spirit of adventure - the Navy SEAL way.

After Eric Davis spent over 16 years in the military, including a
decade in the SEAL Teams, his family was more than used to his
absence on deployments and secret missions that could obscure his
whereabouts for months at a time. Without a father figure in his
own life since the age of fifteen, Eric was desperate to maintain
the bonds he'd fought so hard to forge when his children were young
- particularly with his son, Jason, because he knew how difficult
it was to face the challenge of becoming a man on one's own.
Unfortunately, Eric learned the hard way that Quality Time doesn't
always show up in Quantity Time. Facebook, television, phones,
video games, school, jobs, friends - they all got in the way of a
real, meaningful father-son relationship. It was time to take
action. As a SEAL, Eric learned to innovate and push boundaries,
allowing him to function at levels beyond what was expected,
comfortable, ordinary, and even imaginable, and he knew that as a
father he needed to do the same with his son. Meeting extreme with
extreme was the only answer. Using a unique blend of discipline,
leadership, adventure, and grace, Eric and his SEAL brothers will
teach you how to connect, and reconnect, with your sons and learn
how to raise real men - the Navy SEAL way.

"Eric Davis eschews traditional histories of Iraq that have tended
to emphasize political personalities and struggles amongst them,
and focuses instead on the relationships between culture and
political control, civil society and state institutions, and
intellectuals and policy makers. The result is an innovative and
multi-layered analysis that is a pleasure to read."--Adeed Dawish,
author or "Arab Nationalism in the Twentieth Century: From Triumph
to Despair "Eric Davis's book is a truly impressive tour de force
of the cultural history of modern Iraq and the political struggles
over the appropriation of national culture and memory. It is based
not only on meticulous and detailed research, but also a thorough
familiarity and sympathy with Iraqi society. Davis offers a
particularly valuable cultural and intellectual history of modern
Iraq, a country that has appeared in Western public discourse
primarily in terms of its geo-political aspects and the bloody
regime which ruled it until recent times."--Sami Zubaida, author of
"Law and Power in the Islamic World

excellent translations of the Arabic articles, and their insistence
that hegemonic culture and ideology be analysed deeply in Middle

Great marketing just got easier Marketing is about the relationship
between an organization and its marketplace, and in particular its
customers and potential customers. Customers are the lifeblood of a
business; without customers a business has no future. In order to
succeed and make a profit, a business must therefore aim to
identify and satisfy the needs of its customers. The purpose of
marketing is to help the business achieve these aims. In this book
you will learn, in a week, about the nature and techniques of
successful marketing and how it can improve business performance.
Today's business world is highly competitive and changing fast, and
marketing, as a body of knowledge and best practice, must respond
to these changes. However, there is one fundamental fact about
marketing that remains constant: it is that, to become successful
and remain successful, an organization must be better at meeting
customers' needs than the competition. Each of the seven chapters
in Marketing In A Week covers a different aspect: - Sunday: What is
marketing? - Monday: Marketing and the customer - Tuesday:
Marketing information and marketing research - Wednesday: Strategic
marketing - Thursday: The marketing mix - product and price -
Friday: The marketing mix - place - Saturday: The marketing mix -
