It is divided into several sections written by leaders in the respective fields of quantum methodology applied to atomic molecular and condensed matter systems, each containing the most relevant material based on related topics. Recent advances and state-of-the-art developments in the quantum theory of atomic, molecular and condensed matter systems (including bio and nano structures) are presented.
Quantum Systems in Chemistry and Physics: Progress in Methods and Applications is a collection of 33 selected papers from the scientific contributions presented at the 16th International Workshop on Quantum Systems in Chemistry and Physics (QSCP-XVI), held at Ishikawa Prefecture Museum of Art in Kanazawa, Japan, from September 11th to 17th, 2011. The volume discusses the state of the art, new trends, and the future of methods in mol- ecular quantum mechanics and their applications to a wide range of problems in physics, chemistry, and biology. The breadth and depth of the scientific topics discussed during QSCP-XVI appears in the classification of the contributions in six parts: I. Fundamental Theory II. Molecular Processes III. Molecular Structure IV. Molecular Properties V. Condensed Matter VI. Biosystems. Quantum Systems in Chemistry and Physics: Progress in Methods and Applications is written for advanced graduate students as well as for professionals in theoretical chemi- cal physics and physical chemistry. The book covers current scientific topics in mole- cular, nano, material, and bio sciences and provides insights into methodological deve- lopments and applications of quantum theory in physics, chemistry, and biology that have become feasible at the end of 2011.

Advances in Quantum Chemistry publishes articles and invited
reviews by leading international researchers in quantum chemistry.
Quantum chemistry deals particularly with the electronic structure
of atoms, molecules, and crystalline matter and describes it in
terms of electron wave patterns. It uses physical and chemical
insight, sophisticated mathematics, and high-speed computers to
solve the wave equations and achieve its results. Advances
highlights these important, interdisciplinary developments.
"Advanced Topics in Theoretical Chemical Physics"" "is a collection of 20 selected papers from the scientific presentations of the Fourth Congress of the International Society for Theoretical Chemical Physics (ISTCP) held at Marly-le-Roi, France, in July 2002. "Advanced Topics in Theoretical Chemical Physics" encompasses a broad spectrum in which scientists place special emphasis on theoretical methods in chemistry and physics. The chapters in the book are divided into five sections: I: Advances Chemical Thermodynamics II: Electronic Structure of Molecular Systems III: Molecular Interaction and Dynamics IV: Condensed Matter V: Playing with Numbers This book is an invaluable resource for all academics and researchers interested in theoretical, quantum or statistical, chemical physics or physical chemistry. It presents a selection of some of the most advanced methods, results and insights in this exciting area. Quantum mechanics can describe the detailed structure and behavior
of matter, from electrons, atoms, and molecules, to the whole
universe. It is one of the fields of knowledge that yield
extraordinary precessions, limited only by the computational
resources available. Among these methods is density functional
theory (DFT), which permits one to solve the equations of quantum
mechanics more efficiently than with any related method.
The description of quantum systems is fundamental to an
understanding of many problems in chemistry and physics. This
volume records a representative slection of the papers delivered at
the second European Workshop on Quantum Systems in Chemistry and
Physics which was held at Jesus College, Oxford, April 6-9, 1997.
The purpose of this international Workshop was to bring together
chemists and physicists with a common interest--the quantum
mechanical many-body problem--and to encourage collaboration and
exchange of ideas on the fundamentals by promoting innovative
theory and conceptual development rather than improvements in
computatorial techniques and routine applications.
Advances in Quantum Methods and Applications in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology includes peer-reviewed contributions based on carefully selected presentations given at the 17th International Workshop on Quantum Systems in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. New trends and state-of-the-art developments in the quantum theory of atomic and molecular systems, and condensed matter (including biological systems and nanostructures) are described by academics of international distinction.
This volume is based on a symposium in honor of Professor Ingvar
Lindgren. It includes a contribution by Dr. William D. Phillips,
who was awarded the 1997 Nobel Prize in the field of physics for
work on the development of methods to cool and trap atoms with
laser light.
