Topher Grace, Teresa Palmer and Anna Faris star in this coming-of-age comedy drama set in the late 1980s. Matt Franklin (Grace) is a bright young college graduate whose life has been going steadily nowhere since he left college, despite the economic boom going on all around him. When he finds himself at a Labour Day weekend party with Tori (Palmer), the long-time object of his unrequited affections, Matt throws caution to the wind and goes all out to catch the girl of his dreams, whatever it takes.

A group of fun-loving teenagers take jobs at a recently re-opened
summer camp, unaware of the circumstances that had led to its
closure: the drowning of a young boy named Jason and subsequent
murder of two counsellors over twenty years before. No sooner has
the camp re-opened for business than the killing begins again, as
the teens are picked off one by one. Followed by seven sequels.

INDEX - Excerpt from Book (short): Preface - The impact or cold
extrusion of metals is a ""chipless machining"" process that can
greatly reduce costs of material and labor if properly applied.
Within certain limitations in shape, some parts can be produced by
this process that often require only trimming to length. On others,
the secondary operations are reduced greatly over those required
for several of the competing processes. Finally, certain components
can be made that can be produced by no other method. Impact
extrusion can be employed for the production of parts from a wide
range of metallic materials. In commercial production at present
are components produced from aluminum, copper, lead, magnesium,
tin, zinc and their alloys and various steels. In the development
stage are parts produced from less common metals, such as titanium
and molybdenum. The aim of this book is to present a coordinated
description of impact extrusion. Its purpose is to present the
information required by an engineer to determine whether the
process is applicable to his products, and to assist the
metallurgist in selecting the metal to be used. The book is based
on personal experience, talks, and correspondence with producers of
components, and a search of the free-world technical literature. It
is divided into two parts. The first deals with the underlying
principles and the characteristics of the process; the second, with
the metals being extruded and the products.
A story of everyday life in an American junior high school,
originally published in 1983, this book demonstrates the ways in
which the school culture of early adolescence both supports and
denies the cultural and economic requirements of the parent society
that surrounds it. It explores this school culture in relation to
the local and national in political economy, to class, race and
gender, and to the needs of the state. The author approaches the
work of students in school as a labor process in the context of an
advanced capitalist society. He describes such typical junior high
activities as 'goofing off' and 'bugging the teacher' by examining
the meaning of these activities to the students engaged in them,
and brings acute observation and sensitivity to bear on the forms
of resistance that arise among the students, showing that this
resistance is a form of power which students exercise in the face
of their estranged status. The nature and consequences of this
resistance are examined in detail, especially as they relate to the
context of a society in which estranged labor, in one form or
another, is the dominant characteristic for most members.
Throughout the book, the subtle pressures, the cliques, the
vitality, the boredom and the ever-present humor of school life are
explored. By integrating the insights of Habermas with the theories
of Marx, the author is able to examine the tension between the
'reified knowledge' of the school and the 'regenerative knowledge'
of the students in a sensitive ethnography which captures the
student world in ways which have been missed in the past.

This book, an accessible resource for busy practitioners, is a
unique hybrid of two genres. As a "tourist guide", it shows you: -
how to prepare for the journey - what to pay attention to upon
arrival - how to deal with the unexpected. As a "consumer report",
it helps you: - identify some of the best tools and sources about
change - access useful information about the change process - find
information about the strengths and challenges of various
strategies. Thorough and comprehensive, it offers essential
information about how to: - form leadership teams - identify high
stakes problems - build commitment - create a school-wide vision
and establish school-wide goals - handle setbacks - maintain the
vision and sustain change. - evaluate and assess comprehensive
school change. Also included is a section called "Ports of Call"
which provides sources of information to help you implement
comprehensive school reform at your site. From Michael Fullan's
Foreword . . ."Chenoweth and Everhart take the big concepts of
change and work them through operationally at the level of
day-to-day practice. We learn how to form leadership teams, the
importance of focusing on capacity-building and reculturing, how to
build commitment while dealing with dissatisfaction,
problem-solving during implementation, how to keep going, and how
to go beyond standardized testing in developing a range of
alternative assessment strategies.

2020 Publishers Weekly Book of the Year - Religion Publishers
Weekly starred review. The #MeToo movement has revealed sexual
abuse and assault in every sphere of society, including the church.
But victims are routinely ignored by fellow Christians who deny
their accounts and fail to bring accountability to the
perpetrators. All too often, churches have been complicit in
protecting abusers, reinforcing patriarchal power dynamics, and
creating cultures of secrecy, shame, and silence. Pastor and
survivor Ruth Everhart shines a light on the prevalence of sexual
abuse and misconduct within faith communities. She candidly
discloses stories of how she and others have experienced assault in
church settings, highlighting the damage done to individuals,
families, and communities. Everhart offers hope to survivors as she
declares that God is present with the violated and stands in
solidarity with victims. Scriptural narratives like those of Tamar
and Bathsheba carry powerful resonance in today's context, as do
the accounts of Jesus' interactions with women. God is at work in
the midst of this #MeToo moment to call the church to repentance
and deliver us from violence against the vulnerable.
Nickel is probably the most versatile of the metallic elements.
Among alloys containing nickel are some having high corrosion
resistance and others that retain excellent strength and ductility
from temperatures approaching ab solute zero to those near 2000 F.
Some nickel alloys are strongly magnetic, others are virtually
nonmagnetic; some have low rates of thermal expansion, others have
high rates; some have high electrical resistivities; some have
practically constant moduli of elasticity; one has an "elastic"
memory. In addition, nickel is magnetostrictive. With this wide
range of characteristics, it is not surprising that there are
several thousand alloys containing nickel. It is impossible to
consider all of these compositions in this publication and,
therefore, several alloys in each of a number of categories have
been selected to indicate the properties to be expected of the
group. Low-alloy and constructional nickel-containing steels have
been excluded on two grounds. To do them justice would require
excessive space and, in addition, their applications differ
generally from these of the materials under discussion. On the
other hand, nickel-containing stainkss steels have been included
because many of their applications fall into the same areas as
those of a number of the high-nickel alloys. Many of the
compositions discussed are proprietary alloys and they are
protected by trademarks. A list of the trademarks and their owners
is in cluded in the appendix."
