Analysis and Implementation of Isogeometric Boundary Elements for Electromagnetism (Hardcover, 1st ed. 2021): Felix Wolf Analysis and Implementation of Isogeometric Boundary Elements for Electromagnetism (Hardcover, 1st ed. 2021)
Felix Wolf
R4,011 Discovery Miles 40 110 Ships in 18 - 22 working days

This book presents a comprehensive mathematical and computational approach for solving electromagnetic problems of practical relevance, such as electromagnetic scattering and the cavity problems. After an in-depth introduction to the mathematical foundations of isogeometric analysis, which discusses how to conduct higher-order simulations efficiently and without the introduction of geometrical errors, the book proves quasi-optimal approximation properties for all trace spaces of the de Rham sequence, and demonstrates inf-sup stability of the isogeometric discretisation of the electric field integral equation (EFIE). Theoretical properties and algorithms are described in detail. The algorithmic approach is, in turn, validated through a series of numerical experiments aimed at solving a set of electromagnetic scattering problems. In the last part of the book, the boundary element method is combined with a novel eigenvalue solver, a so-called contour integral method. An algorithm is presented, together with a set of successful numerical experiments, showing that the eigenvalue solver benefits from the high orders of convergence offered by the boundary element approach. Last, the resulting software, called BEMBEL (Boundary Element Method Based Engineering Library), is reviewed: the user interface is presented, while the underlying design considerations are explained in detail. Given its scope, this book bridges an important gap between numerical analysis and engineering design of electromagnetic devices.

R2,805 Discovery Miles 28 050 Ships in 18 - 22 working days

This book constitutes revised selected papers from the workshops held at 24th International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing, Euro-Par 2018, which took place in Turin, Italy, in August 2018. The 64 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 109 submissions. Euro-Par is an annual, international conference in Europe, covering all aspects of parallel and distributed processing. These range from theory to practice, from small to the largest parallel and distributed systems and infrastructures, from fundamental computational problems to full-edged applications, from architecture, compiler, language and interface design and implementation to tools, support infrastructures, and application performance aspects.

Felix Wolf
R487 Discovery Miles 4 870 Ships in 18 - 22 working days

The Art of Navigation examines how the author's association with Carlos Castaneda transformed his life from a

first encounter in 1980 up to the present, more

than a decade after Castaneda's death. The story

follows the journey of a modern-day shaman's

apprentice over thirty years and across the globe,

from hedonistic beginnings towards surrender

and awakening, from a focus on magic and

power to the emergence of love and compassion. The central theme of this memoir is the

art of navigation, which entails living life in the spirit of a magical treasure hunt-playful,

intuitive, fluid and fully aware in the Now.
