English summary: The sanctuary of Diana, on the shores of the volcanic Lake, is one of the Latin's most famous and monumental places of worship, but also among the least known republican sanctuaries of Lazio; this is due to excavation activities in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, which led to the deterioration of many buildings and the dispersion of the relics that were found. The book analyzes the results of twenty years of excavations in the sanctuary, conducted by the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Lazio since 1989 (joined by the University of Perugia in 2003). Research has led to a great extension of the sanctuary (situated on various terraces), but also of its history, with the discovery of a Bronze Age site in the heart of the next sacred area. In addition to a new analysis of the structures in the lower and upper terraces, the volume presents the study of all the materials found during the excavations and allows for a new representation of life and worship that were once held in the sanctuary for centuries. Le ricerche hanno portato ad ampliare notevolmente la stessa pianta del santuario, che sorge su varie terrazze, ma anche la sua storia, con il rinvenimento di un sito dell'eta del Bronzo nel cuore della successiva area sacra.
