In this fictional tale, Titus is a young teenager living in
Roman-occupied Judea at the time of Jesus Christ, who witnesses the
teachings and sacrifice of the Son of God. A moving and eloquent
story inspired by the canon of the New Testament, we join our young
protagonist - a teenage boy of Greek descent - in the weeks leading
up to Christ's arrival in the city of Judea. He leads an active and
energetic around a city whose character and atmosphere are
evocatively described, but also has a younger crippled brother to
care for. Gradually, the importance of Jesus and the lessons he has
come to the fore. Initially, his mother is skeptical that a prophet
would pay any notice to a community as marginal as the Greek.
However, not only is Jesus keen to dispense his wisdom to all
people without exception, he is also a man of immense spiritual
power, healing the sick and giving sight to the blind between
sermons. The significance of Christ's presence however attracts the
attention of the Roman garrison.
