It's been centuries since the Jewelled Valley and its magical gems
were destroyed. In the republics that rose from its ashes,
scientists craft synthetic jewels to heat homes, power gadgetry,
and wage war. Dr. Devina Brunai is one of these scientists. She
also is the only person who believes true gems still exist. The
recent unearthing of the Palace of Gems gives her the perfect
opportunity to find them and prove her naysayers wrong. Her chance
is snatched away at the last moment when her mentor steals her
research and wins the trip for himself. Soon, his messages from the
field transform into bizarre ramblings about a book, a Prince, and
an enemy borne of the dark. Now Dev must enter the Valley, find her
mentor, and save her research before they, like gems, become relics
of a time long forgotten.

The multi-award winning Infinity Project undertakes its seventh and
final voyage in the imagination of the finest science fiction
authors alive... Infinity's End Humanity has made the universe
home. On the outskirts of the solar system, beyond the asteroid
fields, deep in space, under the surface of planets, in the ruins
of fallen civilisations, in the flush of new creation: life finds a
way. From intelligent velociraptors to digital ghosts; from a
creche on an asteroid to an artist using a star system as a canvas,
this is a future where Earth's children have adapted to every nook
and cranny of existence. This is life on the edge of the possible.
Featuring astonishing tales from Stephen Baxter, Alastair Reynolds,
Naomi Kritzer, Paul McAuley, Seanan McGuire, Linda Nagata, Hannu
Rajaniemi, Justina Robson, Kelly Robson, Kristine Kathryn Rusch,
Lavie Tidhar, Peter Watts, Fran Wilde and Nick Wolven.

After the dust settles, the City of living bones begins to die, and
more trouble brews beneath the clouds in the companion to the Andre
Norton Award-winning novel Updraft."A thrilling and complex tale
about the most difficult stage of a revolution: what do you do
after you win? Highly recommended both for the story it tells as
well as how it tells that story. Wilde takes risks that pay off
hugely." --Ken Liu, Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author of The
Grace of KingsThe Towers are in disarray, without a governing body
or any defense against the dangers lurking in the clouds, and daily
life is full of terror and strife. Nat Densira, the wing-brother to
Kirit (Skyshouter, Spirebreaker, no-longer-of-Densira) sets out to
be a hero in his own way--sitting on the new Council to cast votes
protecting Tower-born, and exploring lower tiers to find more
materials to repair the struggling City. But what he finds
down-tier is more secrets--and now Nat will have to decide who to
trust, and how to trust himself without losing those he holds most
dear, before a dangerous myth raises a surprisingly realistic
threat to the crippled City, in Cloudbound. "I long to know more
about the world and where Wilde's imagination will soar next. In
the meantime it's all I can do to slow-clap this powerfully
engaging debut: Wilde's world and characters--as is entirely
appropriate--blew me away." --NPR on UpdraftBone Universe1)
