Fabio Biondi leads the Europa Galante baroque ensemble in this production of Francesco Cavalli's opera. Set in Cyprus, the plot involves enchanted and pastoral elements, thwarted love, the counterpointing of Man and God, sorcery, revelation and ultimate resolution. Performers include Giacinta Nicotra, Gemma Bertagnolli and Juan Sancho.
