Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.
Golden Guineas, Golden Guineas, London Full of Gold is Mary's
lullaby. In the year 1716 she seizes her destiny and flees Dublin
to seek her fortune. But it's all in the pockets of the rich. Mary
decides her nimble fingers are better employed than sewing shirts
for a shilling a piece. She uses her skills to great success and
becomes the most celebrated of thieves known throughout the
underworld as Jenny Diver. The Regulator, however, sees her as a
threat to his criminal empire. There's only two ways to deal with
rivals. Make them partners or crush them without mercy. Jenny takes
up the challenge. London cannot serve two masters. Stakes are high.
The hangman holds the prize for losers. Friends, lovers, foes

Many mistakes, few regrets, lessons learned and forgotten. Four men
lie dead in a Bangkok morgue. Mike Dean doesn't feel it is his
fault in spite of what others might think. He holds up in his Goa
hideaway craving the bliss of ignorance, hoping his troubles will
somehow blow away. But he has it, and they want it. They won't go
away. Mike Dean thought he'd left the seedy underworld behind in
the East End of London when he moved to the East End of the World.
But trouble follows wherever Mike goes. Fortunately, he has
friends; men you don't mess with, and the love of two women. The
Ricketts are nasty people. For two generations they've fed off the
perversions of their victims. Mike Dean has the means to put them
away. That's how his latest problem begins. September is the month
good things used to happen. This is Another September.
Sex, drugs, rock and roll; Featherstone does it all. And all leads
to one thing: Trouble. As the swinging sixties dawns, Featherstone
sets out in search of his 'first time'. That is no easy task in the
days when most girls kept their legs together during passionate
embarrasses. He doesn't really know what to do when allowed onto
third base anyway. It takes an older woman to teach him what's
what. Art College is a liberating experience. Featherstone
discovers the joys and perils of loose women. And free love that
comes at a price. Events sweep him away into a dangerous world of
sleaze and easy money where he rubs shoulders with criminals and
ignores the rules. Running away isn't the answer, as he finds out
when he arrives in Amsterdam. He has something sex goddess, Velma
Ventura, craves. His reluctance to supply could cost him his life.
Groupies, cannabis and money are a dodgy mix. Featherstone
discovers this as lead singer in a rock band. Mayhem and murder
pursue him to an uncertain future. Featherstone Rogue Tales take
you back to a time, not so very long ago, when life was easier for
all, fun for most, and lucky for some. His antics will shock,
excite, amuse, and may disgust, but hey, who wants to die old?
