Many questions arise with respect to the development and the problems of mobility in the 21st century. This book presents the results elaborated by a project team consisting of students of the "Bayrische Elite-Akademie." Dargestellt werden sowohl die "klassischen" als auch die modernen optischen Beobachtungsmethoden, die sich bei der Behandlung von Problemen in der Warme- und Stoffubertragung bewahrt haben: Schlieren-, Schatten- und Interferenzmethoden ebenso wie holographische Interferometrie, Zweiwellenlangen-Interferometrie und optische Tomographie. Theorie, Aufbau und Auswertungsmethoden werden beschrieben und an zahlreichen praxisbezogenen Anwendungsbeispielen erlautert."

Das Lehrwerk (Band 2 des Standardwerks von Stephan/Mayinger) stellt den Stoff wissenschaftlich streng und dabei stets sehr anschaulich dar. Zahlreiche praxisnahe UEbungsaufgaben erleichtern das Verstandnis. P. Stephan und K. Schaber haben die 15. Auflage bearbeitet und aktualisiert. So wurden zum besseren Verstandnis der Phanomene des Phasenverhaltens die Phasendiagramme den Berechnungsmethoden der Gemischthermodynamik vorangestellt. Ausserdem neu: thermodynamische Grundlagen spontaner Phasenubergange sowie ein Kapitel uber Elektrolytloesungen.

In Band 1 des zweiteiligen Grundlagenwerks zur Thermodynamik wird die Theorie systematisch entwickelt. Bilanzen und allgemein gultige Zusammenhange zwischen thermodynamischen Zustandsgroessen werden zunachst fur beliebige thermodynamische Systeme abgeleitet und danach auf eine Vielzahl von Spezialfallen angewandt. Der Band enthalt Berechnungsbeispiele mit ausfuhrlichen Loesungen sowie UEbungsaufgaben. Fur die 18. Auflage wurde das Kapitel uber Stoffeigenschaften aktualisiert und die Abschnitte zu den wichtigsten thermodynamischen Prozessen erweitert.
