2012 Reprint of 1937 Edition. Exact facsimile of the original

book contains five essays by a young Hayek. Lectures are: "National
Monetary Systems; The Function and Mechanism of International Flows
of Money; Independent Currencies; International Capita Movements
and The Problems of a Really International Standard." Lectures
include considerable discussion of the gold standard.
2012 Reprint of 1932 Edition. Exact facsimile of the original

essay is one of the important early works that together "represent
the first integration and systematic elaboration of the Austrian
theories of money, capital, business cycles, and comparative
monetary institutions, which constitute the essential core of
Austrian macroeconomics. Indeed these works have profoundly
influenced postwar expositions of Austrian or "capital-based"
macroeconomics down to the present day. The creation of such an
oeuvre would be a formidable intellectual feat over an entire
lifetime; it is an absolute marvel when we consider that Hayek had
completed it in the span of eight years (1929-1937) and still well
shy of his fortieth birthday."-- Joseph T. Salerno
2012 Reprint of 1939 Edition. Exact facsimile of the original
edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. This
pamphlet is a manifesto, at once concise, cogent and eloquent, of
individualistic liberalism. It is a fundamental challenge to the
doctrine of liberal socialism. The kernel of his argument is that
collectivist economic planning involves the planning organ of
society in making final and authoritative decisions concerning the
relative importance of different human needs: it therefore
presupposes a very large measure of agreement on the part of the
whole people in the matter of social values.
English summary: In the first part of what is probably his most
significant work, Nobel Prize winner Friedrich A. von Hayek
provides a comprehensive systematic description of the fundamental
principles of a liberal social philosophy which has formed the
basis for the development of European civilization in the last
centuries. In the second part of the book, the author deals with
the origin of the rule of law and its significance for safeguarding
personal freedom. In the third part, Hayek shows, using relevant
examples, how important principles of the rule of law have been
violated with the emergence of the welfare state and how this could
lead to the destruction of personal freedom. German description:
Wohlfahrtsstaates wichtige rechtsstaatliche Prinzipien verletzt
