In the year 2000, industrialist John Frederson (Alfred Abel) rules over a giant city where the workers exist only as an underclass. When Frederson kidnaps Maria and replaces her with a robot replica, the workers are incited to revolt.

After lining up the leader in the crosshairs of his empty rifle, Thorndike is arrested by members of Hitler's Gestapo bodyguard, who try to beat a confession out of him. After eventually escaping and navigating a tortuous route back to Britain, Thorndike is forced to seek help from local seamstress Jerry Stokes (Joan Bennett) when he discovers German agents are hunting him down.

Fritz Lang's first sound film is now regarded as an Expressionist classic. The city of Berlin is being terrorised by a notorious child molester and, frustrated by the failure of the police to catch the culprit, the underworld criminals organise themselves to hunt him down. Peter Lorre portrays the snivelling, compulsive psychopath in a role that typecast him for life and the film was remade in 1951 by director Joseph Losey.

Fritz Lang directs this silent epic starring Willy Fritsch and Gerda Maurus. A rocket that is on its way to the moon is commandeered by a group of spies with the intent of stealing the valuable store of gold that is kept on the satellite. The mission does not go to plan, however, as Helius and Friede (Fritsch and Maurus) find themselves stranded in a lunar maze unable to find their way home.

While there he meets and falls for a Frenchwoman, Jeanne Martinez (Micheline Presle), who joins the movement. After years of battling the enemy, the fighters find themselves cornered by the Japanese troops with little chance of escaping.
