Durante los ultimos anos se ha incrementado la cantidad y complejidad de la problematica de la violencia en nin@s que se presenta en el Hospital de Ninos de La Plata. Este es el centro de referencia de mayor complejidad de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. En el se tratan enfermedades que comprenden, desde cuadros agudos a patologias cronicas y complejas con alto grado de especializacion. Se constituyo en receptor de la demanda ante situaciones de ninos violentados, bajo distintas manifestaciones tales como abandono, abuso sexual, violacion, maltrato fisico y emocional, negligencia, ninos en situacion de calle, intentos de suicidio. Este perfil epidemiologico marco la necesidad de capacitacion en la tematica. Las autoras, miembros del Servicio Social, realizan un estudio descriptivo y retrospectivo, a fin de contar con informacion mas precisa y ordenada, acerca de como se presenta la problematica de los ninos violentados en este hospital, identificando agresores, antecedentes, edades, genero, procedencia, etc. Este estudio no pretende generalizaciones, sino producir conocimientos que aporten a revisar las intervenciones en el orden institucional-interinstitucional e intersectorial."
