This book describes what homelessness is like for women and the
extent to which female homelessness is gender-based. It tells what
their lives are like and what their point of view is, both towards
themselves and mainstream society. Because female homelessness is a
serious social problem and is still poorly understood, the author
describes the world of these women not only as an exercise in
cultural analysis, but also with the intention of providing
understanding which may help to improve their situation or
alleviate their problems.
Generalized Linear Models (GLMs) allow many statistical analyses to
be extended to important statistical distributions other than the
Normal distribution. While numerous books exist on how to analyse
data using a GLM, little information is available on how to collect
the data that are to be analysed in this way. This is the first
book focusing specifically on the design of experiments for GLMs.
Much of the research literature on this topic is at a high
mathematical level, and without any information on computation.
This book explains the motivation behind various techniques,
reduces the difficulty of the mathematics, or moves it to one side
if it cannot be avoided, and gives examples of how to write and run
computer programs using R. Features The generalisation of the
linear model to GLMs Background mathematics, and the use of
constrained optimisation in R Coverage of the theory behind the
optimality of a design Individual chapters on designs for data that
have Binomial or Poisson distributions Bayesian experimental design
An online resource contains R programs used in the book This book
is aimed at readers who have done elementary differentiation and
understand minimal matrix algebra, and have familiarity with R. It
equips professional statisticians to read the research literature.
Nonstatisticians will be able to design their own experiments by
following the examples and using the programs provided.

With deep thought and inspiring examples, this updated book engages
readers by increasing their understanding and awareness of what
sustainability means conceptually, practically, personally, and
professionally. It provides readers with the tools and techniques
to improve the social, environmental, and economic performance of
their organizations in both the short and long term. Since
sustainability is not achieved in a siloed environment, everyone
has a critical role to play on this journey. The Sustainable
Enterprise Fieldbook, with full companion materials at
https://TheSustainableEnterpriseFieldbook.com, engages today's
managers and leaders of organizations, in both the private sector
and civil society, who are being challenged as never before to find
ways to play a proactive role in understanding and addressing the
risks and opportunities of sustainability. It teaches them how to
apply systems thinking to turn our most intractable problems into
exciting business opportunities, and offers ground breaking
frameworks in new chapters on globalization, strategy, metrics, and
sustainability models for collaboration, technology, and community.
That is why this book is structured to be a fieldbook to provide
practitioners the Activities, Cases, and Tools that they can use to
help move their enterprise through progressively higher performing
stages of sustainability. Readers also have access to the
innovative Living Fieldbook, an online community forum filled with
supporting materials:
https://www.thesustainableenterprisefieldbook.com/webinars.html.
Philosophical logic has been, and continues to be, a driving force
behind much progress and development in philosophy more broadly.
This collection by up-and-coming philosophical logicians deals with
a broad range of topics, including, for example, proof-theory,
probability, context-sensitivity, dialetheism and dynamic
semantics.

This Is A New Release Of The Original 1906 Edition.
The Gospel Train left the station long, long ago filled with
believers traveling on a straight, resolute track toward an
eternal, spiritual paradise. But along the way, different cars of
believers were switched off the main track and are now traveling in
a somewhat different direction. Even though they are now following
many different sets of rails, they all believe they are on the only
true path that will take them to their desired destination. This
book reveals the ways in which different religions deviated from a
common trunk into contrary, discordant branches that are now
essentially at war with one another. The book focuses on what
Christian Bibles actually say instead of what believers are told
they say. It gives an accurate account of religious history from
verifiable documents that are both ancient and up-to-date records
from many different sources. The most tantalizing revelation is the
nature of God as stated directly from Christian Bibles. Readers are
encouraged to use their own Bibles to verify all references to
scripture. Both chapter and verse are supplied for reference
purposes. After reading this book, you will never again feel
exactly the same way about your religion.

Running by Night, by G. Russell Overton, is the romantic adventure
of Joe Kelly, a gay rights activist in Bay City, Michigan.
Political extremists seized power, eliminated their opposition, and
targeted activists like Joe. Joe fought back to defend his rights.
Running by Night should appeal to most adult audiences. It tells
Joe Kelly's journey of exploration, love, and conflict. It is a
fast paced novel yet continually challenges the reader to ponder
the thesis that holocaust can happen anywhere anytime, and its
victims can be any people outside a social norm.
