With its easy-to-use format, this book provides a collection
of annual data on China’s 56 ethnic groups. It is a resource book
that profiles the demography, employment and wages, livelihood,
agriculture, industry, education, science and technology, culture,
sports, and public health for each of these ethnic groups. This
material, which is compiled from a variety of sources, will be of
great value to researchers, businesses, government agencies, and
news media. In this book, data are presented on an ethnic
group-by-ethnic group basis, and the ethnic groups are ordered
alphabetically, from the Achang to the Zhuang. Though most of the
data are as of 2011 – the latest year when our research was
conducted, we also provide some historical data for a few of
indicators. This is intended to help readers to conduct time-series
comparisons and analyses.
North Korea's brinkmanship diplomacy has continued to disturb the
world with its seemingly reckless missile testing, as the country's
leader, Kim Jong-Il, is rumored to be terminally ill with
pancreatic cancer. North Korea appears to be in a state of serious
internal crisis not only because its dictatorial system, albeit
skillful and ruthless leadership, is inherently unstable, if not
skillful and ruthless leadership, but also because the main pillar
of Kim Jong-Il's legitimacy is rapidly eroding due to both mass
starvations and the exodus of grassroots and mass exodus of the
North Korean people into nearby regions. The main objective of this
book is to explore the probability of North Korea's implosion, and
second to search for a feasible way for Korean reuni?cation as a
possible consequence of a big bang event on the peninsula. The
geopolitics of the Korean Peninsula is historically very
complicated as Korea is bordered and s- rounded by four big powers;
namely, China, Russia, Japan, and the United States. Each country
has its own varying degrees of political, economic, and military
stakes with respect to the Korean Peninsula. Thus, the Land of the
Morning Calm has remained divided since 1945 mainly as a result of
the domain war among these super powers. As the North nears a
turning point, however, there is a new possibility for the two
Koreas to reunite if the international environments work in their
favor, and if both countries are well prepared to assume
reuni?cation.

The diffusion process is perhaps one of the most widely researched
and documented social phenomena. A number of researches have been
conducted in the field of diffusion and adoption providing
invaluable knowledge base regarding the processes and factors that
directly or indirectly affect them. In India diffusion research
begun from early sixties, with a number of significant
contributions from early researchers. The diffusion research
rapidly shot up between 1965 and 1975. The motivation behind these
efforts had been to formulate better, more rigorous theoretical
models that will explain and predict the pattern of real world
which may be used by policy makers at various levels, in order to
test alternative strategies for increasing rate of diffusion of
improved practices. Different statistical methods and research
techniques such as descriptive analysis, correlation, regression
and path analysis have been used by earlier researchers. However,
only few studies have utilized simulation technique in India
because of the late introduction of the computers. This book deals
with the early attempt made by the authors in simulating technology
adoption process and its applications.
History bears out the fact that in India, over the last five
decades quite a large number of rural development programmes have
been launched. But afterwards, these programmes proved to be
dysfunctional, as it could not promote genuine popular
participation in the programme process. Complying with this, the
Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) were empowered as per GOI
enactment of 73rd constitutional amendment (1992) that provided a
new dynamism in rural leadership, to assume higher responsibility
of people's service and enthuse them to participate in the
decision-making process. Hence, it becomes imperative to delineate
the existing leadership pattern in the rural society and identify
the leadership dynamics and their relationship with the role of
leaders as perceived by both followers and leaders. The present
study has been undertaken in four villages of Haldwani block of
Nainital district, Uttarakhand, India with a sample size of total
200 respondents identified from four villages that include 40
opinion leaders-respondents (i.e.4x10) and 160 followers-
respondents (i.e.4x40) to study the leadership pattern and role
behavior, leadership dynamics and leaders-followers relationsh
