A year ago, I was blessed to publish my first book of poems, "About My Father's Business." It was so well-received, and many encouraged me to continue my writing.

This 2nd edition of "About My Father's Business" contains the writings of a "21st Century Psalmist," so called because the words speak to the heart's fullness, of the trials and of the discontent of everyday life, as well as the deeply rooted spiritual concerns of one's soul.

It is intended to stir up your emotions. If you find these words strong, or hurtful, or joyful, or sad, then you are feeling what I am feeling. I know I have found solace in this 21st Century writing.

Every one of us at some point in our lives has had visions, goals and dreams of being somebody. Inspired by my Mom at an early age, she encouraged me to write. Poetry became my first love. People didn't understand me and I didn't care. I decided a long time ago that I would continue writing because I enjoyed writing. So, this book of poetry is mostly about who I am, what I've done, and how I perceive my understanding of God and life. I have written over a thousand poems; every poem that has been selected for this book is special to me, poems of my own personal experiences, poems of my battles and poems of my victories. God made it possible for this book. God made it possible for my life. I give Him the honor, the glory, and the praise. I am truly thankful as well as blessed.
