Computer-animated comedy adventure. Lucas Nickle (voice of Zach Tyler Eisen) is a ten-year-old boy whose family has just moved to a new town, and Lucas isn't enjoying it much. He hasn't made any friends yet, his big sister ignores him, his parents (Larry Miller and Cheri Oteri) are occupied with their upcoming vacation in Mexico, and his loving but slightly crazy grandmother (Lily Tomlin) is convinced space aliens are casing out the neighbourhood. To make matters worse, the local bully has found Lucas and is making his life miserable, so the boy looks for someone he can push around - and he soon finds a large colony of ants in his yard. Lucas takes out his frustrations by stomping, drowning, and burying the bugs, not realising that the ants see him as a threat to their safety and aren't about take his attacks lying down. Zoc (Nicolas Cage) is a 'wizard ant' who creates a formula that shrinks Lucas to the size of an insect, and the tiny boy is brought before the leader of the Ant Council (Ricardo Montalban) and the Queen of the Colony (Meryl Streep) to answer for his crimes against the ants. Showing compassion, the queen sentences Lucas not to death, but to live among them and see how difficult their circumstances can be.

However, the 200-year mark has been and gone and the city is running low on food and energy. The technological knowledge from the original builders of the city has been lost and disregarded, and generations of corrupt officialdom have added to the deterioration of the once flourishing community. When two teenagers, Lina Mayfleet (Saoirse Ronan) and Doon Harrow (Harry Treadaway), uncover the precious box of instructions left behind by the city's builders generations before, they decide to brave the darkness and set out on a mission to save their dying city.

Clint Eastwood directs this drama based on the autobiography of Chelsey Sullenberger. Tom Hanks stars as pilot Chelsey 'Sully' Sullenberger and Aaron Eckhart as his co-pilot Jeff Skiles, who were at the helm of Flight 1549 in 2009 when, shortly after take-off, the plane hit a large flock of birds which disabled both engines. In the face of immediate danger, Sully took the decision to make an emergency landing on the Hudson River and successfully managed to save the lives of everyone on board. Laura Linney also stars as Sully's wife Lorraine.

Dramatic retelling of former US President John F. Kennedy's assassination directed by Peter Landesman. Captured on camera by amateur film-maker and photographer Abraham Zapruder (Paul Giamatti), Kennedy (Brett Stimely)'s assassination was an event which shocked the whole world. A firm believer in the need for a transparent government, Kennedy had made as many friends as he had enemies which led to speculation on the identity of his killer, widely thought to have been a lone gunman. Following the events of his shooting and showing the people who had come into contact with him afterwards, including the doctors and staff of Parkland Hospital in Dallas, the film also recounts the manhunt by Agent Forrest Sorrels (Billy Bob Thornton) of the Secret Service for the president's apparent killer, former US Marine and Soviet defector Lee Harvey Oswald (Jeremy Strong).
