Preventing Substance Abuse is an informal guide to successful
programs for treating specific substance abuse problems,
identifying their origins, implementation, outcomes, and, where
possible, contacts for obtaining additional information. The
emphasis is on information documented from outcomes of successful
interventions rather than on theories of what should work or what
works under experimental conditions. Key features include
easy-to-follow charts and graphs and an appendix summarizing the
National Structured Evaluation (mandated by Congress) of substance
abuse prevention.
This book is the story of two men who began an odyssey together
that became a thread, which when unraveled, reveals how Cold War
paranoia escalated into the death of a president. Robert Edward
Webster and Lee Harvey Oswald were manipulated like marionettes on
strings of espionage. Unraveling these strings (or threads) may
lead us to the puppeteers controlling them. Were these
“controllers” orchestrating a series of events that would lead
to JFK's assassination?

When an iconic group of stellar musicians are abducted by an alien
force, they find themselves entangled in a cosmic struggle on other
worlds against a tyrannical overlord bent upon total domination at
any cost - and by any means necessary. "Hill weaves a unique tale
that focuses upon the vast potentiality of music, the importance of
true camaraderie, and the power in gestalt - all while juxtaposing
contemporary socio-political overtones that echo those that
humanity seems hell-bent upon relearning over and over again."
Heath D. Alberts - Author of "Last Rights"

The Rockford, Illinois music scene has always been one worth
documentation, but there has never been a massive ongoing
coordinated concrete effort to make a record of that scene in
physical print form beyond individual books and newsprint zines.
We're hoping with this new series to make steps to fixing that
problem. It seems a shame to let the history of a vibrant music
scene be relegated to scraps of things that just happened to be
kept in a drawer somewhere. The Rockford scene has always deserved
a better treatment than that, and we're hoping to help the cause.
Whether you've been a part of the Rockford music scene in anyway or
not, we hope that you find these books to be a lasting record of a
history worth preserving. This third book focuses on four bands:
Cheater, Dark Sun, Let Fate Decide and Red Ball Jet.

and compiled by Gary Hill. It is dedicated to W.H. Pugmire and his
