Alfredas Premier Piano Course, Level 4 students explore the full
range of the keyboard, playing motivating, fun pieces that use
triplets and sixteenth notes. Styles range from jazz and ragtime to
original pieces by master composers. New concepts including natural
and harmonic minor scales, one octave arpeggios and chord
inversions are skillfully woven into intriguing pieces. Each piece
on the CD was recorded at a performance tempo and a slower practice

The music in Lesson Book 3 is completely written on the staff.
After a review, the new concepts taught are: Staccato, legato,
slurs; Melodic and harmonic 2nds and 3rds; Melodic and harmonic
4ths and 5ths; f-p.; Bass clef C D E are taught for the LH.
Students then know all notes necessary to play in the C position.
Playing both hands together is taught near the end of the book.
The Activity & Ear Training Books include coloring activities
to help students recognize notes, musical symbols, rhythms and
more, both aurally and visually. Each activity is carefully
designed to encourage teacher/student interaction. Every activity
coordinates page-by-page with the Lesson Books.
Lesson Book 4 is the last in the Music for Little Mozarts series.
After a review, the new concepts taught are: Flat and sharp sign;
Tie; Crescendo and diminuendo. After reviewing C position and
Middle C position, G position is taught. All three positions are
used alternately throughout the rest of the book, with flat and
sharp notes incorporated. When the student is finished with Lesson
Book 4, he/she moves either into Alfred's Basic Piano Library, Prep
Course, Level C or Alfred's Premier Piano Course, Level 1B.
The Music for Little Mozarts Recital Book 3 includes motivational
music to reinforce performance concepts that are introduced in the
Music Lesson Books. The book includes an all new story about Mozart
Mouse and Nina Ballerina, as well as familiar music for
performance.
Students needing to review and improve their note-naming and
interval-naming skills will benefit greatly from these
well-prepared Notespeller Books. Each book provides a variety of
written activities that reinforce note reading concepts presented
in the Lesson Books. Correlates page-by-page with the Lesson Books,
but may also serve as an effective supplement to other piano
methods.
Students are finding the Theory Books in Alfred's Premier Piano
Course not only fun to do but very helpful in reinforcing new
materials introduced in the Lesson Book. The Learning Links
included in the Theory Book relate to learning more about important
subjects found in the music and lyrics in the Lesson Book making
for a more rounded education. Continued from previous Theory Books
are Fun Zones, Now Hear This (ear training), and Now Play This
(sight reading exercises) which add additional reinforcement to
written theory.

new series of solo/activity books written to correlate with the
Music for Little Mozarts series. In Christmas Fun!, Book 2, Clara
Schumann-Cat is having a Christmas party. Students will enjoy the
Christmas story with its related pictures, piano solo (with
optional teacher duets) and activity pages. Many will also want to
color the illustrations found throughout the story. Use this book
during the Christmas season after the student has studied page 38
in the Music Lesson Book 2.

rhythm patterns are added to other rhythms of gradually increasing
complexity. Each piece on the CD was recorded at a performance
tempo and a slower practice tempo.
Lesson Book 2 starts as pre-reading, then moves to reading on the
staff. After a review, the new concepts taught are: Dotted quarter
note and 4/4 time, 4/4 time, Mezzo-forte, Staff and note reading,
Steps and skips, Grand staff. New notes taught are F and G in the
LH and RH, completing the Middle C position.
