The 7th Bandung Creative Movement conference presented the theme
"Dynamics of Industrial Revolution 4.0" which discussed how the
digital world and connectivity changed human culture in various
aspects of life, and transformed in accordance to human needs and
social culture. Digital technology has transformed society to serve
people from manufacturing needs to smart cities, from network
connectivity to people connectivity. The application of information
technology has helped in improving live quality and environmental
sustainability. Digital transformation is revolutionizing how
businesses and workers interconnect to be more productive and
efficient. The result is improved collaboration, faster processes
and time-to-market, lower costs and better products. Devices are
getting smarter, meaning they are able to perform more and more
tasks without human intervention; moreover, these devices generate
data that provide insights to further improve processes and gain
greater efficiencies. Moreover, with the Internet of Things (IoT),
all these smart devices are interconnected in ways that not only
help make them even smarter, but also enhances the intelligence of
the overall system. Digital technology is a formidable driver for
the transformation of a highly carbon-dependent world into one that
is more ecologically 'smart.' We are entering a new era of
environmental innovation that is driving better alignment between
technology and environmental goals. Since its first announcement in
2011, industrial revolution 4.0 has dynamically changed and
transformed to adjust itself to the human needs and to serve more
efficiency and effectiveness of everyday life as well as
environmental enhancement. The 7th Bandung Creative Movement has
brought forward discussions on dynamic changes, ups and downs,
innovations, relations of industrial revolution of the internet of
thing, data, automation, to human physical world, new art and
aesthetic, business, product innovation, built environment, and
education.

Are young people today politically 'apathetic'? Or are they
democratically 'mature' citizens? This book examines several types
of involvement to reveal changes in young people's political
participation in Europe in recent decades. It uses various concepts
of 'age' to compare participation across countries and over time.
The book shares the results of project research granted by the
Castilla-La Mancha government, which has been composed by
philosophers of law and criminal law researchers, whose main
conclusions are represented by the manifestations and trends of the
current crisis of the constitutional State. The works identify
these trends and manifestations in order to develop alternatives
and remedies to solve the current negation process that classical
liberties are involved, from the point of view of philosophy,
policy, and dogmatic.

According to media reports, Latin America is one of the most
violent regions in the world - a distinction it held throughout the
twentieth century. The authors of Violence and Crime in Latin
America contend that perceptions and representations of violence
and crime directly impact such behaviors, creating profound
consequences for the political and social fabric of Latin American
nations. Written by distinguished scholars of Latin American
history, sociology, anthropology, and political science, the essays
in this volume range from Mexico and Argentina to Colombia and
Brazil in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, addressing such
issues as extralegal violence in Mexico, the myth of indigenous
criminality in Guatemala, and governments' selective blindness to
violent crime in Brazil and Jamaica. The authors in this collection
examine not only the social construction and political visibility
of violence and crime in Latin America, but the justifications for
them as well. Analytically and historically, these essays show how
Latin American citizens have sanctioned criminal and violent
practices and incorporated them into social relations, everyday
practices, and institutional settings. At the same time, the
authors explore the power struggles that inform distinctions
between illegitimate versus legitimate violence. Violence and Crime
in Latin America makes a substantive contribution to understanding
a key problem facing Latin America today. In its historical depth
and ethnographic reach, this original and thought-provoking volume
enhances our understanding of crime and violence throughout the
Western Hemisphere.
In the Vortex of Violence examines the uncharted history of
lynching in post-revolutionary Mexico. Based on a collection of
previously untapped sources, the book examines why lynching became
a persistent practice during a period otherwise characterized by
political stability and decreasing levels of violence. It explores
how state formation processes, as well as religion, perceptions of
crime, and mythical beliefs, contributed to shaping people's
understanding of lynching as a legitimate form of justice.
Extending the history of lynching beyond the United States, this
book offers key insights into the cultural, historical, and
political reasons behind the violent phenomenon and its continued
practice in Latin America today.
In this second volume of the groundbreaking survey, Michael J.
Pfeifer edits a collection of essays that illuminates lynching and
other extrajudicial "rough justice" as a transnational phenomenon
responding to cultural and legal issues. The volume's
European-themed topics explore why three communities of medieval
people turned to mob violence, and the ways exclusion from formal
institutions fueled peasant rough justice in Russia. Essays on
Latin America examine how lynching in the United States influenced
Brazilian debates on race and informal justice, and how shifts in
religious and political power drove lynching in twentieth-century
Mexico. Finally, scholars delve into English Canadians' use of
racist and mob violence to craft identity; the Communist Party's
Depression-era campaign against lynching in the United States; and
the transnational links that helped form--and later emanated
from--Wisconsin's notoriously violent skinhead movement in the late
twentieth century. Contributors: Brent M. S. Campney, Amy Chazkel,
Stephen P. Frank, Dean J. Kotlowski, Michael J. Pfeifer, Gema
Santamaria, Ryan Shaffer, and Hannah Skoda.
