This book constitutes the proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Wireless and Satellite Services, WiSATS 2016, held in Cardiff, UK, in September 2016. The conference was formerly known as the International Conference on Personal Satellite Services (PSATS) mainly covering topics in the satellite domain. As the scope of the conference widened to include wireless systems, the conference was renamed WiSATS. The 22 revised papers were selected from 32 submissions and cover a broad range of related state-of-the-art topics in antennas and mobile terminals, symbol precoding and network coding schemes, energy efficient strategies in satellite communication and cloud radio access networks, smart grid communication and optimization, security issues in vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANET) and delay tolerant net-works (DTN), interference mitigation in high throughput geostationary and non-geostationary satellite systems.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Software Engineering and Formal Methods, SEFM 2012, held in Thessaloniki, Greece, in October 2012. The 19 revised research papers presented together with 3 short papers, 2 tool papers, and 2 invited talks were carefully reviewed and selected from 98 full submissions. The SEFM conference aspires to advance the state-of-the-art in formal methods, to enhance their scalability and usability with regards to their application in the software industry and to promote their integration with practical engineering methods.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed extended postproceedings of the 8th International Workshop on Membrane Computing, WMC 2007, held in Thessaloniki, Greece, in June 2007 under the auspices of the European Molecular Computing Consortium (EMCC).

The 22 revised full papers presented together with 5 invited papers went through two rounds of reviewing and improvement. The papers in this volume cover all the main directions of research in membrane computing, ranging from theoretical topics in mathematics and computer science to application issues. A special attention was paid to the interaction of membrane computing with biology and computer science, focusing both on the biological roots of membrane computing, on applications of membrane computing in biology and medicine, and on possible electronically based implementations.
