1930. A graduate of Harvard, Goldberg has been a magazine and newspaper editor and a lecturer on music and belles-lettres. He is addicted to radio, talkies, musical comedies, puns, toys of every description and head-splitting volumes of esthetics. He was rocked to sleep with the melodies of Gilbert and Sullivan and is generally accepted as the outstanding Savoyard authority. Here he applies his expertise to giving the reader a history of the origin and business of Tin Pan Alley.

The beautiful Gershwin ballad shines in this strong Dave Wolpe arrangement for jazz ensemble with solo vocalist. We were surprised that Dave had not scored this tune before, but it was worth the wait. It is really smooth. To make the chart more flexible, you can also feature a tenor sax solo in place of the vocalist. Jazz Ensemble with Solo Vocalist - Medium Easy (4: 16)
Each collection contains 11 songs arranged for the instrumentalist
wanting to play in a jazz style -- without the need to learn to
improvise. All of the books are compatible, with only minimal
changes in the "variation" section to accommodate the ranges and
unique characteristics of the instruments.
